No news is good news

TL;DR:

• Feeling pretty not awful. Other than catching up on bills.

• Slowly dipping my toe back into writing.

• A bunch of my author friends came to stay with me and it was awesome.

• I'm quite bad at the board game Clank!

It's been a little while, so I thought I should update you all. The recovery is coming along; I get a little better with each passing week. I am working at the writing. It's very slow going for now, especially as I also have to catch up on six months of things I've been setting aside, even when I shouldn't have. I had an irresponsible number of overdue bills.

I had a rather terrific experience recently, where some of Australia's best litRPG authors came to stay with me for a 'glad you didn't die' celebration weekend. It was terrific time, involving board games, barbecue, peril, and my friend Craig's enormous sausage. Not a euphemism, it was an actual sausage, although I don't envy Haylock having it pointed at him across the table all through lunch. There's a time and place.

I wasn't anywhere near as exhausted by the event it as I thought I would be, which is a great sign for the recovery. I did do very badly at a lot of games of Clank! though. At some point I may have to stop blaming luck and accept that I'm not very good at it.

I'd like to give a particular shout-out to Tev's Prophecy Approved Companion, as it's a particular favourite of mine. Also, one of my non-author friends started reading it after getting to meet Tev and told me off for not recommending it sooner.

All in all, things are looking pretty good right now, which is when it all goes off the rails, obviously, but I'll guess we'll see. I hope you are all doing well.
