Hello everyone,

Here's a cleric of the devouring domain.

It's for the Southern border of Luyarnha, where humans cannot use magic.

To palliate this fact they ingest flesh of the Self-Devouring Serpent God, which sacrifices their flesh, but grants them the power of the arcane.

These guys are the clerics of this totally sane religion.

Lore Question: When you say it’s for the Southern Border of Luyarnha, do you mean the Southern Clans? Or is it people who are citizens of Luyarnha but reside outside of the main city? (I just love the lore and am curious lol)

Hello, So extending the duration of a spell by one turn, especially with the latest rules is phenomenal, as most combats only last 3 rounds, meaning that if we can keep our Strong cleric AoEs up for longer, it's a great thing. I do agree that poison damage is the damage type that most creatures are immune to, actually very few creatures resist it. But on those creatures, it's a big chunk of added damage. Player Characters can only get immunity to the Poisoned condition through magic items in the official rules, so the symbiote would normally work on all allies. And it also gives an added free spell. That's a lot of benefits at level 3! Level 6 is meant to work with the new Poison Table I've introduced, which has over 30 different poisons. Being able to apply one of those, each time you use your Channel Divinity is phenomenal. Level 17, well Wish is not exactly a comparison it it. By that standard every single capstone ability is weaker than Wish, for all subclasses. Thanks for the feedback!

I like the flavor of the subclass, but the feats are severely lacking in my opinion. Extending the duration of a spell by 1 round is alright. The channel divinity gives disadvantage on attack rolls but boosts attack damage, i guess that evens out but its the most resisted damage type in the game so there is that. It also doesnt work on folks immune to the poisoned condition. The level 6 ability is really good. Its somewhat decent support if the poisoned condition happens often outside you channel divinity, otherwise its not ever gonna get used. The level 17 ability its alright i guess, but its also level 17 so we got the wish spell, power word kill, meteor swarm, etc, being thrown around. It just doesnt feel like a capstone ability.
