Hello everyone,
Update 2.0 to the subclass, now with balanced rez math
This subclass was heavily inspired by Dark Souls
I wanted to capture that relentless undead vibe where death is just a checkpoint, like respawning at bonfires, except modified to fit in grimdark campaigns for D&D.
Some key changes:
Deathless: No more extra health by splitting your Hit Points.
Gifts from Beyond: Replaces Pattern Recognition. Now each time you die, you brink back powerful effects from the grave, all of them scale with your CON, so make sure to max it early.
Honed Reflexes: Dodge Roll changed to be a CON save, which you are great at, as opposed to a DEX save. Also limited by 2nd Wind to prevent spamming.
Grim Hegemon: Replaces the previous ability, instead of giving you Temp HP, it makes you roll on the Gifts from Beyond table twice.
Drag to Death: This one is unchanged, and still fun!
Balance-wise, the HP fracturing though nerfed now, still makes you tankier, because any damage over your death threshold doesn’t carry over.
