Fighter: The Revenant - Fight, Die, Repeat

Hello everyone,

Update 2.0 to the subclass, now with balanced rez math

This subclass was heavily inspired by Dark Souls

I wanted to capture that relentless undead vibe where death is just a checkpoint, like respawning at bonfires, except modified to fit in grimdark campaigns for D&D.

Some key changes:

Balance-wise, the HP fracturing though nerfed now, still makes you tankier, because any damage over your death threshold doesn’t carry over.

Quick Question: For Drag to Death, when it says “You can expend one use of your Deathless feature” does that mean it uses an additional use of your Deathless feature to activate? So you use two uses instead of one, or does it still use only one and it’s just there for clarification that you are using a Deathless use when you activate the ability?

Otherwise I love the subclass and one of my players will be using it in my Steinhardt game. I just think that’s the only thing that was odd about it

Quick question, I think it might’ve been a typo, but for Gifts from Beyond, for Frozen Grasp and Haunting Strikes: is it supposed to last until the end of their next turn instead of their start? Because with the way it’s worded Frozen Grasp doesn’t stop them from healing themselves, just allies, and Haunting Strikes will only give disadvantage on it’s opportunity attacks, not its main attack action, which heavily nerfs it.
