ANYWAY! SAOA's actually coming along really well! We've got some really promising shit for the 17 script so far, and despite the density of fight scenes in 16, the editing has been moving along at a really promising pace. Also, y'all been watching Desperate Housewives? I know that's a throwback, but that shit is LIFE! The Van De Kamps are a fucking mess and it's just... *chef's kiss*. I mean, how many sociopaths you gotta raise before you just burn the whole deal to the ground? Not that it's just Bree's fuckin' family. Y'all know Maxine had a SLAVE?! Absolutely wildin'!
The MHAA 2 Bloopies are also finished and they should be going up on Patreon sometime today! We finished up a bunch more recordings for MHAA 3 as well (despite the GODDAMN HEAT), such as Deku and Mina! A rare pair if I've ever seen one. Oh? Just went to ao3 and there's like 700+ stories of them fuckin'. Hell yeah. Get it, you two. OTP right there.
Man I miss Bones. Carrie and I kinda dropped off and have been on a DH kick as of late. We'll go back to it one day, but I swear to god if Angela and Hodgins don't get back together I'm gonna be fuckin' livid. Their break-up just made no goddamn sense! They're perfect for each other! And let's be honest with ourselves, Hodgins is pretty much the perfect man: genius scientist, rich, cute, funny, ripped as hell, conspiracy theorist, has beard! Nuff said! Angela will never do better!
Additionally, we're planning on taking about a week off in August because the Canada/US border is finally gonna open! Meaning our bois can finally come visit, and we wanna give them all the attention they've been STARVED of for the last 16 months! How have they survived without us? No one knows. Probably empty husks of their former selves at this point. Truly ghastly. So we must... affix ourselves to those husks and... fill them with sustenance like some sort of... reverse lampreys... of love. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. SPEAKING OF FUCKIN' WHICH, YOU KNOW WHO'S IN LOVE?! BOOTH AND BONES! How come everybody can see it but them?! They're so smart yet so dumb! You think some measly Christmas episode Caroline mistletoe shenanigans are enough to sate my FUCKIN' BLUE BALLS!

Anywho, that's about all for this month. But not to worry. HSM:TM:TS should be wrapping up this month, so we won't have to keep forcing ourselves to watch that horseshit for much longer. It just really pulled us in in the first season, but now it's just kind of a Sunk Cost Fallacy, you know? Like, at first it was fun in like an ironic way, but then we started to get legitimately invested in all their silly high school drama, but now it's not even, like, good drama. It's just "boy, you guys sure are 16" drama. Like, who the fuck cares that Howie goes to your "rival" school?! You're not the Montagues and the fuckin' Capulets! Get the fuck over it! No one cares about the goddamn Menkies! I may just be a humble 31-year-old YouTube personality, but I say y'all need to cut the shit and just make out with each other! ESPECIALLY the crazy teacher and the cute science man. Stand with me!

Episode 10 comes to mind as not only having extensive edits, but also having some of the best edits of the entire series, and it only took 5 months to produce. Rather, I think the issue is taking on multiple projects that pull focus. I can't criticize them for wanting to do other things, but the flagship project that I, and I suspect many others signed up for, is falling to the wayside. I just really though they'd be done or close to done by now, especially with just a (I think) 35 script translating to about roughly as long as the last one? Maybe I'm wrong and they're gonna drop a 45+ minute episode that will totally make the year+ wait seem worth it, but given how the last one went, I can't say I have high hopes of that.

2021-08-03 01:16:21 +0000 UTCi think part of it is that the early episodes didnt have NEARLY as much extra fancy shit as the new ones. i totally get why it takes as long as it does. i don't know if you've checked it out yet, but if not you should watch saoa 15 post mortem. i already knew they put a lot into these episodes but after watching that i refuse to complain ever again about how long it takes cuz goddamn.

2021-08-03 00:39:02 +0000 UTCI don't know how to say this without coming off as antagonistic, I legit love their work, but I have to say I'm genuinely disappointed. The entire Aincrad arc was completed in roughly 3 years, with 11 episodes and around 3.5 hours of footage. Here we are now, 4 years into the elfheim arc and they're what a little over half way through and topping just an hour and 15ish minutes of footage? I know covid was the mother of all setbacks, but the episodes were already stretching out to a year between episodes before, and going off the reported rate between updates, we're not gonna see episode 16 till first quarter 2022, well over a year past episode 15 premier (the anniversary of which is fast approaching.). I hesitate to agree that sounds "promising." I know I'm just a $5 patron, but after 4 years I can't help but feel I'm getting far less for my contribution, even with MHAA, than I was when I started.
