Week #9 -- Goodbye Inktober, welcome November

new month! new thanks! Thanks for sticking with me, y'alls <3

I hope y'had a nice lil' halloween, be it eventful or just like another day in your year

My plans for November? Probably gonna try and take it easy. I've logged off dA for the time being, at least as an excuse to have some more mindspace to do things with.

I joined Pillowfort

one of those things is exploring this one website called Pillowfort. Right now it is a website you have to pay $5 to register in due to it being still in beta, so that's a paywall to prevent bad things to happen (it does come with 3 additional codes to invite people with so do feel free to ask), but honestly I'm digging it. I love that it's so simplistic, kinda gives me a sense of nostalgia for the internet back in the days.

Here's a link to my pillowfort page: https://www.pillowfort.social/WildBlueFantasy

enough talk, here's the last 7 prompts of Inktober... and some talking about them

Inktober

Day *checks to confirm* 25 -- Splat

I fell from the high skies and descended towards the courtyard of this estate. As I did, I saw two people on a muddy path.

The one in the lead was a fancy young woman. Her hair was a gradient of pastel purple, pink and yellow. It shot off her head in two massive pigtails, funneling out from two silver ornaments, studded with many pearl jewels of different colors. She was outfitted fancily, wearing a green gown with puffy shoulders at the top, and a long, multi-layered skirt at the bottom. And she had an over-abundance of accessories – jewels upon jewels.

This fashion style… just wasn’t doing much for me. I could see the intent. It was definitely meant to invoke “Magnificent”, with the many decorations and all. Except it was so busy, loud and mismatched, so if I had to pick a word, I would probably describe it as “Gaudy”. Except except, much like its wearer, it was currently half-covered in mud. She was strolling in such a jolly and carefree manner, twirling and jumping and splashing mud everywhere on, around and behind her without an ounce of concern for how dirty she was getting herself.

If I didn’t know any better – and as a matter of fact, I didn’t – I’d say she was doing it on purpose, much to the displeasure of the man following close behind her. While she was frolicking with reckless abandon, he was marching in a strict, trained demeanor. His outfit was dapper -- deep green suit, deep green pants, white cravat and white blouse. His hair was blonde and flat, falling on either side of his head, and his face was adorned with a flat mustache with colors to match – just big enough to hide his frown and exasperation. I had to hand it to him, his style was clean, even if the lady he accompanied sought to make a mess of it.

I couldn’t really tell what was the relationship between these two individuals. Not for lack of knowledge, but more so because I was still falling and about to hit the floor. Didn’t have much time to think about it. I landed into a bush nearby, causing it to rustle loudly as I tumbled into the mud, staining my white plush exterior.

Day 26 -- Connect

"that moment when two bubbles connect together and start merging"
featuring Amora, who loves bubbles very much
it's the last bubble-related thing I made for inktob ~

Day 27 -- Spark

"Librie casting high-level magic."
Sorens, a race of human-descendants, are highly  capable when it comes to magic. Librie in particular had lost her eye in a tragic incident involving a dangerous criminal. Her missing eye had now been replaced by an Accel Stone, which she can use to accelerate magic -- this is why sparks are flying off from that eye.

Day 28 -- Crispy

"Gondora be like "get me some bacon""
Gondora is a monster, that is, a life-form tied to the chaos energy of the Moon. This energy molded her into a humanoid lizard of sorts. She has a powerful unique ability -- the ability to transform an element into a dragon and control it. Here, she's controlling a Fire Dragon.

Day 29 - Patch

Bara: "And for the rebellious, comedian Big Brother, may we suggest...!"
Brith: "A design made to celebrate the high-brow improv of just throwing ideas out there..."
Bara and Brit: "the Silly Patchwork suit!!"
Ryen: "Yeah, I can dig it."

introducing 3 of Nancy's siblings!
The one in the middle is Ryen -- an energetic, fidgety man with a bit of a rebellious streak. He's the third child of the family, and gets along really well with Nancy. The two are quite the pair when it comes to comedy, mischief and sports.

Then there's the twins, Bara and Brith. The one on the left is Bara. She is the fifth child. With her confidence, showboating attitude and mind of entrepreneur, she plans on taking the world of fashion by storm.

The one on the right is Brith, and she is the sixth child. She has a very exuberant and cheerful demeanor to suit her energetic go-getter nature. The two of them are never seen apart.

The three of them are half-Soren just like Nancy, but only Nancy is able to fly with those wings.

If you're curious, this is the list of Nancy's generation in older from oldest to youngest: Olaf, Holgrahn, Ryen, Nancy, Bara, Brith and Briosh. Only Holgrahn and Briosh were not pictured this Inktober.

Day 30 -- Slither

It is Milly! Milly is a human with psychokinetic powers, able to lift and fling objects using what her mind manifests as 3-petal flowers. Here she is using a technique called "Psionic Garland".

Milly lives on a tropical island of the Ocean kingdom. She's usually the one to defend the island from pirate attacks and other problems.

Day 31 -- Risk

"Muscle man Grizzl challenges Linidia to a fist fight. Basically, he's just made the biggest mistake in his entire life."

Grizzl is Lola Windslash' most trusted crewmate. He wants to be the strongest. Though he cannot swim on his own, if you give him a floatation device (like an inner tube) he's able to just push the boat anywhere if the situation calls for it. He's smarter than he looks, too -- usually being a man of few words.

He's really strong, but still not on the same level as Linidia, who is just the strongest warrior in the Shenanilands due to her intense training and iron will. She is also a smart woman of a few words, so they do have some similarities going on.

Inktober End Thoughts

ahhhhh I'm relieved that it's over. Challenges like these have always been stressful to me, and I've failed quite a few in the past. But I'm glad I did it. I think I might have improved just a little bit throughout, and it gave me a good excuse to draw all these characters.

Oh right! I did have a side-challenge going on for this event -- to never draw the same character more than once. I didn't count how many that was in the end, but that part I'm also very happy about. If anything, it helped me expand on the Shenanilands a whole lot. For that alone, these challenges may be worth trying again in the future.

Idyoff #9

This week's Idyoff features Hovan's Cinsili in a bubble. I like how cute this one turned out.

One more little surprise

Last night, I thought about Leaflings -- the timeline of their growth until adulthood. You can read those thoughts in the attachments, "Leafling timeline.txt"

That's about it for this week! See you next week, when I pot rabbits dressed up as princesses!
