So I got a chance to watch the video, and I want to share another vantage point. Like Aaron, I agree that verbalization is a skill set that should be taught more in all professions and not just the self defense industry. I work in education, and learning how to deescalate situations with emotional teenagers can save everyone time and energy. I especially agree with the point about rapport. Learning how to talk with people respectfully when they are cooperative can give you a leg up when they are no longer thinking straight and they need someone to bring them back from making a stupid decision (like all kids do sometimes). At my job, I am a lead educator and I would definitely want to find a training course or manual to teach others these soft skills. I have a book right now called “How to Be Heard” by Julian Treasure that approaches this topic from a business perspective, but it would be nice to have other publications come out for everyday situations.
