The odds 126 unbetaed - Eventful Morning

Hi, everyone!

As it was promised, the writing of the next chapter of The odds has been done this month.

Don't mention how close it was to the end of February, please (yes, I am well aware that somewhere in this world, it is already March, thank you).

Anyway. I've sent the chapter to my beta a few hours ago, so I am very unsure I will be able to update it in time to make it a February update.

Sorry in advance, but the environement right now in Real Life wasn't especially conductive to writing this chapter in a fast and efficient way.

But let's not suffer a lack of courage at a critical moment, An Impractical Guide to Godhood is back on the menu. Perseus Jackson, your beloved Tyrant, wants his time to shine, and he won't be denied.

It is time to embrace the madness...(and you don't have a choice, Annabeth apologises on Perseus' behalf).

Bests,

I would argue Black and the Barrow Sword were fairly reasonable an sane.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Alexandra would literally facefalm at the idea of her other selves being as numerous as the Pokemon...

Antony444

Catherine is completely insane, as are all Villains...she just is using it productively, in the end.

Antony444

Ha! Ha! A lot of good points here. Thanks!

Antony444

Oh yes, just thinks...all of this which happens, and she's yet to have brakfast (lol).

Antony444

That's...an interesting prediction. I don't want to answer right now and say if you're right or wrong, it would be too spoilerish.

Antony444

Thanks for the chapter! Dumbles continues to try and get other people to do his dirty work it seems. And he was so close to recognize that Alex will soon surpass him (even from his own point of view), too! That being said... with two alternate versions making it a pattern, I kind of want to see a whole set of AlexAlters doing Alexandra shenanigans together. Gotta catch them all!

Songy

Yep. In many ways, the reason Alexandra was so surprised is because Rani very much doesn't look like her, due to her Patil genetic heritage. Otherwise...it would be a Tuesday for her.

Antony444

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

Antony444

You're welcome, continue reading!

Ironically, there's also plenty of timelines where the last Potter (whether a boy or a girl) isn't really for the Light or the Dark. As in 'he or she isn't a Champion of any of the Powers'. The canon books would be among that category, funnily enough.

Antony444

Thanks!

I’m so conflicted with this chapter cause I had wanted something like this to happen just in a completely different way. It was at the end of the 1st task when Alex showed everyone just how powerful she is and I thought about how Alex in canon would be an absolute monster for Voldemort to deal with. Then Harry showed up and I thought it would be interesting if Alex actually went to the canon timeline with the reasoning being that Harry instead of Sirius died and Dumbledore tried some ancient magic to summon a “Harry Potter” to deal with Voldemort but got Alex instead. Also I’m calling it here: I think Arianna has been corrupted by a piece of the Great Enemy’s soul.

Alexandra is having a very eventful day, and it's only just started. I'm quite curious to see what Rani Potter wants from her.

I love how nonchalant Alexandra is about the whole situation. She's dealt with so much bullshit at this point that it's become a matter of, "Well I suppose we're doing this now" and it makes for an immensely funny read when she interacts with people who aren't used to that attitude.

Catherine is more insane imo but she is way more practical so in way it doesn't seem that insane when presented with logic

So.. I what this encounter with alternate Dark Version of the last Potter is there for, is she a potential ally or enemy. Though to fair if this was Practical Guide.. I would think this is the pivotal moment where Alexandria it 'tempted' by the dark. Effectively add strength / power for the coming of the war, but would firmly lock her onto the side of Dark. Or rejecting and overcoming it to carve her own path, and ultimately setting her on the path of being the neutral. If I remember there is an odd number of powers with Fate / Magic originally serving as neutral, and Alexandria's path may lead her down that road. Though on the note of Catherine and Impractical Guide... I feel that Perseus should be annoyed by Annabeth's presumption. Catherine's own brand of madness and audacity I would say rivals the Tyrants. (I would never presume to slander him by implying Catherine is more insane...but she might be)

Jeremy

Don't worry, the quality is always better than quantity.

Ahahaha ! Indeed it’s strange Alexandra meet two of her counterparts in such short time. Now I’m asking myself which is more numerous : the realities where the last Potter is for the Light or the one the Last Potter is for the Dark ?

Now I didn't saw this coming, nice twist

Navdeep Sugandhi

Oh now that ending was hilarious.
