Burnt Bridges-Part 1

Challenging last panel. 30+ one-offs with Quinn. Not her environment. This storyarc is different from Pumpkin's in that it's split into chunks. It will be at least, when I add these onto the main site. The last comic at IHOP happens just before Ellie's date with Owen (the one that almost worked out.) The comic above happens during a date Ellie has that DOES work out. You'll see it when we get there. *wink wink* Regardless, both stories are about to hit their climaxes.*no wink wink*

But wouldn't the weekend.. Wait, you said your main job. Ah.. got it.

Mr. Blue

I just thought that the guy may not have very many friends, but he seems to know how to throw a hell of a party.

Mr. Blue

My wife wrote an article once for a magazine called, "Why You Should Never Date a DJ." Granted, she dated me before I retired from being a DJ, so it was mostly an experience thing. The problem with being a DJ and dating one is that you don't ever just hang out with a "few friends" if people like your music. It is more like hanging out with a few dozen associates and fans who will show up no matter where you go. My 35th birthday party was supposed to be just me and my friends (8 of them), but we were all DJs and it turned into a party of over 200 people. One person finds out, the entire Internet is cued in, the entire entourage scene happens. My wife hated it, but eventually, she realized it just happens and stuck it out. Eventually, I retired because my main job moved to a weekend shift and that was the end of my free time.

I'm a retired DJ. Just because a lot of people show up to your birthday doesn't mean they are your friends. People would show up at parties for me that I had never met before. They just heard the word "party" and showed up. It was the world the group of us DJs lived in - have a private party, over 9000 would show up.

Ok. Don't hit me. But I almost thought that Cinnamon may have left one of her shirts in Ellie's laundry and Quinn went and borrowed one of Ellie's shirts. But upon closer inspection of Cinnamon inspired garb, he blouses have three striped colors. Quinn's shirt here has two.

Mr. Blue

I don't think that it's wrong. But she's also seeing bits of his world as well. This may be a diminishing thing as he gets his DJ'ing work on a more solid ground.

Mr. Blue

Quinn is in for a world of hurt, isn't she?

Last panel is fantastic. When you put the work in for the small details, it really stands out.

Yeah, pretty sure I'd be about to burn some bridges if someone I was pursuing pulled a stunt like that on me. Is it possible to have pangs of sympathetic anxiety for a fictional character?

Michael Darnell

It's Burnt Bridges-Part 1. I think we're seeing what shall be determined by historians to be a spark.

That One Guy

That was also my initial reaction, but I realized that it's not his forearm we're seeing but the back of Eagan's cap.

Laurent

That was my thought after this one.

BrandX

Not sure how the title "Burnt Bridges" fits this installment? What bridge was burnt? Did Quinn burn one with out realizing it? is it a illustration of how few (any) friends she has because of bridges she burned in the past?

TSG

...For not having a lot of friends that is a lot of people.

Felli

Or jello shots...

Dear lord, that one guy's arm must either be dislocated or broken off... :P

Those drinks look like the tray of 12 sodas from around the world that you can get at the Coca-Cola store at Disney Springs that just opened. Chris, next megacon, we're SO going to that Coca-Cola store and trying ALL THE SODA.

Don't think she did, because there was no phone call to Ellie while out with Middle Aged Bitter Guy. Either she's going to take the Egan by the ... 'horn' ... or she's out.

He's not that into you Quinn, time to move on

Laurent

Poor Quinn. I wonder if she will ask Ellie to bail her out of this one, too.
