The odds 121 unbetaed
Added 2024-08-18 06:52:27 +0000 UTCHi, dear readers, and here we are again for a new chapter of The odds were never in my favour.
Chapter 121, April of Strife, to be precise.
I managed to finish yesterday, despite all the thunder trying to stop me (yeah, I am gorced to stop my computer and livebox every time there's thunder, after having a computer knocked out several years ago, you tend to be careful with that sort of things).
This chapter could also be called 'why it's stupid for even a member of the Exchequer to try to beat a Champion of Death at her own game'.
Anyway.
I am going to take a break for 3-4 days, the climate has been way too much of a problem, and I need some fresh air. This won't take that long, and it will allow me the opportunity to be refreshed before beginning the next story on the schedule of August...which will likely be The Dance is not Over, though as always, things may change in the next few days.
Enjoy!

Hmm, I'm not sure about the gloating, but it was still a glorious scene. I guess Alex was once more reminding people that she's still one of the most scary people on the planet. Alex not only has a lot of power, but she's inventive and nasty with other combinations of spell choice, very nice.

2024-08-18 16:38:36 +0000 UTCLet's not be outrageously optimistic: there are deterrents. Knight Necromancer was way too arrogant for her own good; she practically let Alexandra unleash her attack without opposition; most other Lord/Lady-level mages would have literally sprung their ambush in the first seconds, in an attempt to knock her out from the very start. But yes, there are going to be a lot of terrified people. And a lot of new worshippers of Death in several of the divine Aspects currently existing across the world...

2024-08-18 15:12:43 +0000 UTCWell, the two are not exclusive. But yes, quite often, the creativity is what makes Alexandra easily the most feasome Champion of this age...

2024-08-18 13:00:01 +0000 UTCReally nice chapter ! I think the non-magical/magical civilians are going to get….terrified (even more). Hail Hydra ! And to be honest, I’m kinda curious to see the political consequences of Alexandra revealing that she can be considered a nuclear nuke, with no possible deterrent. And last thing : has she taken precaution against non-magical assassination attempts (i was thinking snipers) ?
