Once and Future King - The odds 106 betaed

I didn't have much time on my hands these last days, but I managed to find time to properly re-read and verify the betaed version of chapter 106 of The odds were never in my favour this morning.
As a result, Once and Future King should be posted tomorrow on ff.net, barring extraordinary circumstances that would include certain Ruinous Powers.

I think you have it backwards, and the one fighting Shattered Glass couldn't become the champion of Water, because the Exchequer is doing that elsewhere.

2023-06-11 04:39:31 +0000 UTCAs I understand it, which I am not sure is correct, the Exchequer has prepared to turn a Dark Champion into a Power of Water, through the killing of the Champion of Shattered Glass. And the one who kills the Champion of Shattered Glass, will become the Power of Water. If this is correct, then I don't get why Desire is not the one fighting the Champion of Shattered Glass? Giving Water the properties of Death sounds worse than Chaos in my opinion. If we follow the logick of the story, wouldn't giving Water the properties of Death potentially make all water in the world poisonous? which would result in the whole world dying? I think the Champions animagus forms at least partially represent their domain, Fenrir from Chaos, a unicorn from Innocence, and a hydra from Death. The only death-feature from a hydra I know is the poison. Healing, many heads, and thunder ain't really death-things as far as I know. I would have said thunder, but that is apparently Judgement domain. Again I don't really get why Desire didn't fight the Champion of Shattered Glass. But it was a nice fight, and I look forward to the next chapter :)
