The odds 101 unbetaed - Carnival Civil War
Added 2022-12-30 09:03:13 +0000 UTCHere is the unbetaed chapter 101 of The odds were never in my favour.
Sorry it came so late in the month, but between several unexpected things which happened during the holidays (nothing bad, I will reassure everyone, but it ate my writing time) and the fact this chapter was 15,000 words long by the time I ended it, well...December is about to die, to imitate our dear Professor Trelawney.
I will post the future writing schedule tomorrow, since there's many things which will change, due to...changing circumstances. Curse you, Tzeentch and Loki!
For the betaed chapter, the plan is still to publish it tomorrow, assuming my poor beta manages to correct it in time. I think it will be difficult, but well...that's my fault, not hers.
Happy end of the year 2022, and enjoy!

Thanks, it's a special day, being 32...sorry, not answering the spoilerish questions for now. But yeah, the Dark Champions don't like at all having sweated for hundreds of hours when the Light Champions gain everything in a few minutes...

2022-12-31 12:22:15 +0000 UTCRemember each of the courts have different win/loss conditions… and resources at their beck and call… if the battlefields are only in the night courts favor, that is probably because of Ra’s blatant cheating in using the chalice on the light champions and creating a further imbalance of power? Which doesn’t sound like something Osiris would allow to happen. Also Ra has different priorities than the tournament’s task four. Two games are being played here… one is the tournament task, the other is the light vs the dark. If any light champion under Ra’s sway gets hold of ANY of the dark champions, I’m pretty sure that champion will die… notice Alexandra was/is reluctant to kill Neville, Henri, and Eleanora before

2022-12-31 03:28:14 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter. Interesting to see the contrasting strategies. The Night Court seems to be trying to win by grabbing the keys. The other courts seem to be relying on force instead. If the Night Court keeps being able to figure out where the keys are and the other courts continue to not spot the keys that is going to give the Night Court a huge advantage because while the judges are picking the battlefields only the Night Court will be able to prepare them.

2022-12-31 02:54:27 +0000 UTCFirst off, happy birthday! This was an awesome opening to the start of the fourth task! If they all end on cliff hangers, I might need some hair color…. Could Henri be set up as an internal saboteur? Is his power of Order keeping him somewhat “aware” during his moments of lucidity? Poor Neville, just when he was becoming a somewhat tolerable individual his free will is high jacked and his arrogance level shot through the stratosphere, undeservedly so…. Fingers crossed when the judges see him aged up he at least looses some points for cheating! Poor dark champions, thousands of hours of blood, sweat, and tears countered effortlessly through cheating… something is going to have to give before it breaks…. Going to have me feverishly rereading several chapters to catch some dropped hints on the new Unity champion aka Alexandra’s cannon fodder…. I think of the three courts, the Night court is the only one who showed up and showed out… here’s hoping there’s some more fish slapping silliness and soliloquies in the Night courts future!
