This will be the unbetaed chapter 92, Wounded Pride.
I have decided the next update to be worked upon, next week, cheerful ambiance oblige, will be An Impractical Guide to Godhood! And no, Percy you can't participate in the Olympic Games...what do you mean you are going to organise the Suicide Squad games? No?

Thanks for the new chapter. The plot continues to thicken, and I'm finding myself more and more intrigued by Lyudmila. Ever since she lost the first task, she's become more human, or at least more personable.

That aside, I'm loving this fic you've put out and am totally looking forward to more. I got so many predictions and am desperate to know is Krum still gonna be Hermione's beau for the ball. But honestly, I have one question above all others. Has Alexandra actually shown Susan the hydra (and if the answer is yes, has Susan been nuzzled by the nine heads?)

2022-02-06 19:33:46 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter. The fact that forces from the Army of Light gutted Lucrenzia's elder brother in front of her, when she was less then eight, shocked me. Not that they would do that but that they did that and we ended up here. Let me list my premises and conclusions because I think I'm missing something: 1) The politics of this world is one of noble warrior houses. Letting a child of the house be gutted and not taking revenge would be the death of a house because it would be an admission of weakness which could not be survived. 2) House Sforza knows which of the 30 Great Houses of Venice are allied with the Army of Light/Trinity. These alliances are clearly multi-generation things which couldn't be kept secret in the circles these families move in. In the upper levels of Venice's society everyone knows which families are allied with the Army of Light/Trinity and which with the Exchequer. Just as everyone in Britain knows which houses supported Voldemort. It follows from this that the torture and murder of Lucrezia's elder brother must have had one of three effects. 1) House Sforza failed to take vengeance and was ruined by the revelation of its weakness. We know this didn't happen because House Sforza is not ruined. 2) House Sforza took vengeance by killing children of the houses allied with the Light. (Just killing the attackers would not be sufficient to preserve House Sforza's reputation) We can be almost certain this didn't happen because this would have started a civil war in Venice and while there was one a century ago there wasn't one a decade ago. 3) The act so horrified the 30 Great Houses that the houses allied with the Army of Light/Trinity were forced to break those ties or be driven from Venice. We know this didn't happen because the heir of House Medici was revealed to be working with the Army of Light during the First Task and his successor was celebrating his death, not panicked that his house was about to be destroyed. There is a fourth possibility, they managed to keep the details of what happened secret. But then the revelation of Alexandra is a very big deal because if it spreads from her, and she had no reason to keep it secret. House Sforza will have to set off that civil war now, during the Tournament. I can't see that. Have I missed something important? Thanks for all your hard work. Nicholas

Man, Falk talks a big game, I'm interested in seeing if he can back it up, or he's going to be murdered. And using the threat of Ra against fellow light champion families... I'm looking forward to seeing the effects of the potions for the task, though I don't foresee much hope for Neville unless they use that dream-walker to basically puppet him to brew the potions, or Dumbledore uses a pensive to stuff Neville's head with alchemy knowledge.

Neville's grandmother is the one in charge of his money, and with Regulas back as the current temporary head of the family, Leo's on a very short string when it comes to money. Unlike with his Sirius, I doubt Regulas is going to give him money willy nilly.

And why do they need her cash when the latter two have family fortunes far exceeding hers? And Falk...oh boy, I hope he has some skill to back up that arrogance of his. I'd hate to see him get one-shotted after talking so big.

2022-02-05 16:25:30 +0000 UTCI get his attitude is not much different than canon Malfoy, but Leo's statements are really starting to drag down some of the scenes. They don't add much to the conversation we don't already know. Other than that, loved the chapter.
