Hi everyone,

Here is the latest news about Gofile.

- New servers have been deployed in the US continent. Gofile now present mainly in Europe and the United States. I also plan to deploy servers in Asia in the future.

- A new algorithm for geographic load balancing has been deployed. It is working, but more work needs to be done to ensure that files are available on the right servers at the right time. This feature is the core of Gofile. It is important that it is well optimized in order to be able to absorb a large amount of traffic.

- A complete rewrite of the upload system has been done. On the web interface but especially on the server side. This in order to prepare the system for future functionalities. Especially the edition of uploads. This feature is almost ready.

- The database has been migrated to a new and more powerful server. During peak load, the database was the problem. It should be better now. I plan to change database technology in the future to make the infrastructure more scalable.

- A lot of bugs have been fixed. Many minor changes have been made.

The priority for the next few weeks will be to deploy the update to edit the uploads.

After that, a big stabilization work will have to be done following all these big infrastructure changes. Especially on the geographical load balancing and the change of database technology. When all this is done, I could look at the new features I have in mind. I'll talk about them later.
