Alice: the final recap is here!! After this post we'll finally be able to tell you everything that's happening in the latest sessions o((*^▽^*))o
Adventures after the ball
- The party accepts some quests in order to gain money and fame.
- Celio tells his story to the whole party, and the group decides to face together whatever undead threat will come their way.
- Caliban goes to the temple of Tolium to have his leg injury healed by Cornelia Zenium, the Great Priestess of Tolium.
- Polvere casts Sending to talk to his father, Colamasso. Colamasso tells him that he’s currently in Cales, the capital of the province of Calantria.
- The party goes to the small island of Olvia to find out what happened to some missing fishing boats. There they befriend a young bronze dragon named Anducar, and together they defeat a hydra that had some mysterious necrotic powers. The source of these powers was a lich’s phylactery that was stuck in the hydra’s mouth, and the party decides to leave the phylactery under the young dragon’s protection.
Anducar also says that his mother, Azraloth, is currently building her lair in the Latavium region. - Winter confesses to Vittorio that it’s thinking about going away: maybe the adventurer’s life isn’t as good as it thought. They talk about it, since Vittorio is a seasoned adventurer: he talks about the importance of traveling with friends and having each other’s back. Winter will think about it.
- Celio and Caliban tell Ciro Garema, the Great Priest of Avandra, about the phylactery. He tells them that the item needs to be safely purified in a sacred land, and that he’ll write to other priests in the kingdom to organize an expedition.
- Caliban contacts Celio’s mother with Sending to tell her that her son is alive. She’s deeply moved.
- Caliban tells the whole party that his parents were abusive, especially his father. The party listens to him and consoles him, offering him their support no matter what happens in the future.
- Polvere and Serpico talk to Cornelia: she confirms that Tolium gave Polvere his powers. Tolium has different domains: he’s the god of knowledge, comedy, research and truth, one who encourages his devotees to be ever curious towards the world. Since Polvere is very skeptical of the gods, they all think that Polvere receiving powers from a god could be Tolium pranking him.
- The party helps Tullius, one of Vittorio’s ex students: his house is haunted by the ghost of his grandpa. Fighting the ghost, Vittorio almost dies, and that shocks him to the core.
- Caliban contacts Livia, his younger sister, using Sending. Unlike the rest of his family, she was good to him, and they decide to reconnect.
- The party is tasked by Horatio Grisium to find out what happened to Thordar Grakkun, his paladin friend who went missing during a quest on another plane of existence. To do so, Horatio teleports the party to Acheron, the Infernal Battlefield. The party saves Thordar and completes his mission, returning to the material plane safe and sound.
- During the weeks spent in Lexiapolis, Vittorio kept thinking about what he discovered in Casarino. He visits his best friend Camilla and tells her everything that happened: they were both Aidan’s friends, and Camilla, upon learning of Aidan’s connection to the Red Hand, is deeply distraught. They both realize how little they knew about their old friend and how well he kept everything hidden behind a charismatic façade.
Vittorio admits he came to Camilla to ask her to contact Aidan via magic: after what happened in the sewers and at the ball, he fears for his family. He looks confused and Camilla advises him to take some time to reflect and sit with his feelings.
She asks him about Edna and the whole relationship-cohabitation situation and Vittorio replies that he has to think about that, too. - Serpico thought a lot about their last adventure: Thordar’s situation reminded them a bit of themselves and how they traveled alone for 10 years. Understanding that they don’t want to risk their life alone and that they’re starting to see the rest of the party as their friends, Serpico tells them everything that happened in Rivaterra: how they were possessed by a demon and went on a rampage, killing their brother Licorice too, and how they escaped to Altia thanks to their master’s help. The party group hugs them, supporting Serpico and promises to stay by their side.
- Thanks to Sending, Caliban keeps contact with his and Celio’s family.
- The party leaves Lexiapolis. Their destination is Pietralunga, the village where their next quest is located. During their journey they meet Merlino, a wacky, naive and good-willed elf bard who almost died: a group of bandits scammed him, left him to die and stole all his precious belongings. The party decides to take care of the bandits and retrieve his stuff.
- Merlino recognizes Winter: he met its teacher, Corrado Cerqueto, a few months prior; the man was injured during the war. According to Merlino, Corrado is traveling with a handsome blond man named Elia. Caliban, being a bit paranoid, instantly thinks about Angelo, but for now he keeps it to himself.
