Sneak peak at what's coming up!

It has been a mad few weeks for me. I have been travelling for work, and because of the weather in Oregon I was stuck there for a few more days than expected! Which is why I wasn't able to get a video out for this past Friday.

I thought I would give you a sneak peak of the progress so far with my plants, as well as another project I have been working on.

Firstly some good news, BOTH competition Poblanos seeds have germinated! The soil one took a week longer than the Hydro one. But both are doing well. I have the start of a couple of the Spaghetti peppers too.

I also started a new batch of seeds, just in case. The box on the top there with the screen is a little waterproof temperature sensor I built to keep track of the water temp.

I showed a picture to a friend of the project I'm working on and he assumed it was a bomb... It is in fact a controller I am building for my Hydro Ebb and Flood system. It has a a sensor to detect the light levels (the information will be used to optimise the flooding schedule...still working on the calculations for that). The 3 knobs are for adjusting the duration and interval for the pump, and light levels threshold. There will be a small relay controlling the pump, as well as an LCD for display.

I will be busy this weekend potting up and moving plants out to the small geeenhouse, and should have a video out on Monday if all goes to plan! How is your season going?

Thank you

This is the pin layout: https://i.imgur.com/2PdSiAd.jpg The center is live, so connect the positive to that, and check each of the other wires with gnd (if the attached doesn't help)

That sounds about right...but would need to see the fan to know for sure

Hi Shaun, I'm making a stir plate next the fan has 3 wires all black but I have seen on the web that pin 1 is Ground Pin 2 is positive and 3 is the sensor. I'm putting in a HALJIA CCM2 Adjustable Volt DC Motor Speed Controller so I'm guessing I put the ground wire in the negative output and the positive in the positive and disregard the sensor wire?

Hi Shaun, I went in through the door and put silicon round the wire to seal the hole it's working a treat ;-)

Have a look for a drain hole at the bottom of the fridge...you may get lucky!

Hi Shaun I put it all together and put 2 lamps in to test it and it worked! Now all I have to do is get the heater wire in the fridge without hitting the coolant lines I was thinking of going through the door

Apologies Dave, I am only just heading home from work now. Be careful with wiring it up especially since you are working with mains voltage. Let me know if you still need a hand and I will sort you out when I get home!

Hi Shaun, I got all the items listed on your video about making a ferminator I posted the question before they had arrived....I had a rare day off work and spent a few hours searching YT and there are loads of videos from the home brew channels on how to wire it all in, some were a bit "less safe" than I would have liked! But I have got the basics on how to do it ;-)

Hi Dave, sure...I will have a look when I get home. It is pretty straightforward though. Did you get the STC?

Hi Shaun do you have a wiring diagram for the control box of the ferminator? I've got all the bits just need to know where the wires go so I can get the "angry pixies" to do there thing Cheers

Hey Shaun, Your plants are looking very nice! I am glad the LED lighting is working out for you so far. I have one too, i use it when the plants are small, they seem to do ok. :-) Too bad you didnt make a trip up north to Vancouver whilst in Oregon! I still owe you that pint!
