The Start of Patreon, The New Year, and Kara no Shoujo

Hello everyone, it means so much to me that you've come by this little Patreon of mine. I hope you enjoy this preview of the upcoming analysis on Kara no Shoujo/The Shell. I've loved this game since I first read it and I was so shocked when the announcement of the new Shiravune releases came earlier last year. Really, the stars aligned for this one. To commemorate the grand opening of this Patreon, this preview is available to all tiers. Let me know your thoughts, both on the video and the game itself if you've played it.

Full disclosure, I did not originally plan for the KnS video to be as long as it's turned out to be but once I came up with the idea of tackling the game through the vector of obsession, so many things fell into place; this might be the video I've had the most fun making to date. I'm deep in the editing stage, and I'm really liking how the video is turning out. Also, I've also got a longer post I'm gonna make about the Umineko analysis, I'll probably put that up soon cuz I've got a lot to say on the topic.

Regarding this Patreon, I'm toying with the idea of putting together a Q&A video as part of all of this. Nothing fancy, just collecting some questions from you guys and collating them into a quick Patreon video. Let me know if that'd be something you're interested in, or if you have some other idea for the Patreon you'd like to see.

Thank you all for supporting me and the channel, I honestly didn't expect that my little discussions of visual novels of all things would reach the audience they've managed to reach (it's particularly gratifying to see that the Chaos;Head and Raging Loop essays surpassed my Rokken Island video as the most popular on my channel, I didn't think that video would ever be topped). This is an exciting new journey for me, and I'm glad you're with me for the ride.

Randomly found your content through recommended features and LOVED it. Never felt so compelled to give my money to a YouTube content creator. Ever.

The raging loop video was astounding! I especially liked that you got into the intricaties with the translation being a bit weird. Its crazy your videos don't have even more views than they already do.

Found your channel randomly through YT recommendations and hugely enjoyed your video about Raging Loop, even though VNs are not really my thing. Would really love more content about Japanese movies and series akin to the one about Japanese serial killers in media!

Just found you and binged all your vids within a night. Looking forward to this.

Yay, finally a way to give you money in exchange for the amount of times I've watched your videos! I'm sure this comes up in the Umineko video but in case it doesn't and you'd want to answer it in a Q&A: I would love to hear you talk about your thoughts on the Rosatrice fan theory and the particular style of fandom analysis it came to represent. If that's too broad a subject, hearing what got you into VNs or how you'd pitch reading Umineko to others would be awesome!
