I dont know about the moon blade, but The Clear sky hammer gains weight as rings are added. So, an experienced master shouldn't be that optimistic to compete against clear sky hammer.
For some reason he threw the blade and won that encounter. The fact that he could deflect the hammer and not be suspicions about the outcome raises questions.
