Revisiting the Dungeon Dive Top 10 Lists - a project for 2025 that won't destroy the planet
Added 2025-03-10 15:41:16 +0000 UTCThanks to everyone who responded to my request about this project! Much appreciated! For those of you who might have missed that post....
I've been feeling a bit of burn out lately, especially regarding learning and playing new games. For a while I want to focus on playing games I've played before, and playing games I know I already love.
To that end, I'm going to be focusing on the games on my two top 10 lists - Dungeon Crawls, and Adventure Games.
I'll be making one or two videos on each game, revisiting it, and hopefully finding something new to say.
I've taken some of your suggestions, and will be looking at the games using the following guidelines.
Approaching each game
1. How easy to get back to the table / relearned? / Rating the relearning curve
2. Any substantial new variants / rules? Ways to keep fresh? Is this needed?
3. Do I wish for more expansions?
4. Did I discover something new to love?
5. Still on the top 10? (or, perhaps, am I still confident it belongs on a top 10?)
*******
I've also started a public forum to discuss this project and the games over on Dungeon Dive Quest.

The Games for consideration are:
Top 10 Adventure Games
Lands of Galzyr
Runebound 2nd Edition
Dungeon Degenerates
Arkham Horror 2e (probably won't do this one because of the ongoing series)
Albion’s Legacy
Hexplore It: Valley of the Dead King
Sleeping Gods
A Touch of Evil
Fallen Land 2e
Pauper’s Ladder
Top 10 Dungeon Crawls
Drungeon Crusade
Rogue Dungeon
Machina Arcana
Iron Helm
Warhammer Quest
Mansions of Madness 2e
DungeonQuest
WHQ: Silver Tower
Quest for the Lost Pixel
Secrets of the Lost Tomb

There is a feeling in Dungeon Crusade that no other game offers. I've NEVER played a full game from start to finish, but that kind of doesn't even matter. I will be focusing on the new Dungeon Crusade Blitz which offers ways to speed up the game.

2025-03-11 15:54:41 +0000 UTCi missed it because of a nasty flu 🤒 So looking forward to this series. For me it's always interesting how the "feeling" of a game changes over time. Is it still the same? Did another game change your opinion on the existing ones? Maybe you found another game which strongly replaces an old one? eager to watch it. PS: I'm still amazed that Dungeon Crusade is so high up on your list. From what I've heard, it's the fiddliest and loooooooong game ever🤣 and aside from that, I've also seen a combat video online and was really, really strange/ boring (my personal opinion).... I mean, Roger is one of the nicest guys I've talked to.... but his game is definitely not my thing🥲
