Pirates of the Caribbean FULL LENGTH Reaction! Pirates of the Caribbean FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Yay! One of my favorite reactors watching one of my favorite movies!!! I can't wait for the next three. I'm sure you'll love them. I'm personally not a fan of the 5th, but you'll probably like that one as well. -EDIT: Good to see someone else who loves Norrington. I see him get so much hate.

Chaos The Kidd

This was really fun to see you react to pirates. These have been some of my favourite films always and I really love them all and therefore ofcourse would be awesome to see your reactions for the rest of them. Like some others have said the first trilogy is a masterpeace, 4 is very good and 5 has a lot of problems, but it still has some really great stuff! I'm also so glad you appreciated Norrington's character so much, I feel like he is such an underrated character. And Barbossa, he's always been my favourite character in this movie! Btw your with braces look is mighty fine! And also another pirate film that is absolutly fantastic I recommend is Sinbad by Dreamworks!

Thank you so much for reacting to this movie. I love all of them, really. As for Jack doublecrossing the navy th the scene with Barbossa, he sort of did, but he had told Norington to get back to the boat and shoot the cannons at the pirates. Norrington didn't do this. Jack wanted to end the curse and help WIl, I think, but in order to do that he needed to get the other pirates out of the cave, he had to seem to work with Barbossa. Had Barbossa sent the men out in the boats, and had Norington gone back to the Dantless the cannons could have bought Jack time to end the curse and save Will. I think it was Jack's intention to deal with this with a few deaths as possible, it just didn't quite work out how he had planned.

I really agree with the comments here that 2 and 3 are must watches! I'm also really in favor of you covering 4 and 5 as well. I personally really enjoy 4 and I think 5 is at least worth the watch to complete the set (though it isn't a movie I'd watch on it's own if I'm not doing a full rewatch of the series)

Diego Zenhäusern

I think the original trilogy is a must watch! I enjoy 4&5 too.

I hope I did include the post credit scene! When I click it appears to be there, but the internet is as it is! If you think it is missed out, please skip to the VERY end and let me know!

Hey, so I thought I'd take some of the locations in this movie and ground them in the real world real quick. First off, Port Royal was a real port (where Elizabeth, Will, and Norrington all live). It was once the largest trading hub in the Caribbean but it was destroyed by an earthquake and subsequent tsunami in 1692. Kingston, Jamaica is now the city that makes use of the same bay and harbor Port Royal once did. You can even visit the ruins of Fort Charles, presumably where Jack is held in the movie. Jack Sparrow is based on a real world pirate named Jack Rackham (1682-1720) who would've been only 10 when Port Royal was destroyed. Therefore we can probably assume the movie takes place in the 17th century a decade or two before the real Jack Rackham terrorized the seas. Btw, he is incorrectly portrayed as the inventor of the famous pirate flag known as the "Jolly Roger" (skull and crossed swords). In reality, pirates flew all manner of flags usually deceptive in nature. Tortuga is a real island in what is now Haiti. It was a hive of piracy in the 17th century so its portrayal, while hyperbolic, isn't entirely inaccurate. It sits a couple hundred miles Northeast of Port Royal/Kingston. Isla de Muerta is primarily fictional island which means "Island of Death" or "Death Island". There is a real "Isla El Muerto" in Mexico's Gulf of California but its obviously not the same thing. Oddly enough, the island from Jurassic Park is called something similar, "Isla Muerta". It is also fictional and sits in an island chain west of the Costa Rican mainland.

Ah, Pirates of the Caribbean 1! My second favourite pirate movie in life (first is Treasure Island from the 1990s with a teeny tiny Christian Bale). I just kinda want to add, as a historical fashion enthusiast, that, well, one, Elizabeth isn't (shouldn't be) wearing a corset, she's supposed to be wearing stays. But that little nitpick aside, I just want to point out that corsets are actually very, very, comfortable IF they're not the high-fashion variety (as it of course is in this instance in the film). Corsets were used the same way, and for the same reason, as modern bra's. Every day use for support and comfort. Elizabeth's comment only makes sense in the "this is high fashion" aspect, but it kinda makes it sound as if she's not wearing a corset/stays every day, which she definitely was, if we go the historical route. Also, yes. More Pirates, please. At least Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.
