SPOILER ALERT! - If you have not watched the show before, don't read the following review until you have! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, this was an episode like none other! It was fascinating (and I'll be honest, a lil scary) seeing Zuko's earlier years.

And we definitely learned so much important information on Iroh... gutted for him.

This is clearly inspired by old westerns, and I think they did a brilliant job with it. I love Zuko's story so much.

Hope you had a great week, guys!!

I think I've commented it before, but huge, HUGE agree with the folks suggesting Firefly !! It is an incredible take on the western genre, and I genuinely feel the writing (especially the banter & dialogue style) is second to none. Also this episode is such a standout, isn't it ? When I first saw commercials for this series I would have never guessed we would get this kind of atmosphere & storytelling. I love that we get to see snippets of Zuko's past as well, and finally a look at his parents ! I also adore that it not only holds a magnifying glass up to how/why Zuko is the way he is, but also we see more of Azula (including how early she befriended Mai & Ty-Lee, even if it was mentioned in passing before) Also some Iroh backstory !! It's wild to think about the weight even the tiniest scraps of info carries when it comes to these characters (Again, not something I would've ever expected even from the first episode..) ATLA truly is something else <3

Goblin

Zuko Alone is my all-time favorite episode of Avatar. It's so good.
