I think you might be misreading the reactors. Based on what I've seen of them on their own channels, they'd all agree that what happened to Best was wrong, so their referencing of "redemption" is most likely done ironically towards that sect of the fanbase. Fully willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that part.
