2023-03-25 01:05:20 +0000 UTCThe doorway effect is a known psychological event where a person's short-term memory declines when passing through a doorway moving from one location to another when it would not if they had remained in the same place. When you pass through a doorway (or move to a different environment) the brain "re-sets" itself for the new situation. Often when this re-setting happens, the details and reasons why you went through the doorway are lost.
