Kamen Rider Zeztz 1x05 "Case 5: Crash" - reaction & review
Added 2025-10-12 21:16:21 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to ep 5 of Kamen Rider Zeztz!!! OHHHHHH THAT'S what she was afraid of?!!?!? Wow! We were all way off focusing on the relationship itself! I was so proud of her future hubs and also the childhood friend for being standup guys about it too lol. Dang! No wonder everything revolved around flight in this arc!!! Very interesting turn of events with the worldbuilding! And now our detectives are on our side too, yay! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Wait, it was a fear of flights?! ....Are you sure about that?!! xD ...Dammit, there goes my theory. Though I had a feeling that he might've been a genuinely good guy. I saw that genuine worry in him when she got attacked the second time in the last episode. What a good twist though, they set us up!!! So... I'll say this about the new form, it looks like we're referencing Kuuga again. xD Kuuga has four different forms, each with a corresponding color: Red, Blue, Green, Purple.... Now take a look at that book that labcoat guy is looking at during the end there... See any familiar colors? ;D Be on the look out when Zeztz changes right into the new form instead of the base form. Let's just say there's a biiiiiit of another reference to Den-O in the show, though Baku's not going to get possessed by some Imagin or Greeed or something. xD ...At least I don't think he is? 0I still don't know WHAT NEM'S DEAL IS?! IS SHE AN ANGEL OR DEVIL?! ...I mean she supported the marriage, but then again... There's just still something off. Obvious evil lab-coat wearing guy aside, I just feel like there's just something off. Like the way she was just waiting for Baku at the Church during the final encounter being like: "Yep! The ceremony happened, it was beautiful, but they're heading off to vacation *right* now!" ...Like... Is she trying to help the dreamer be her 'true self', or is she trying to lure her further into the trap using a false sense of security? Not to mention she's got that Snipe-looking guy simping for her in a way that I don't think is mere idol obsession. Did we get a name for him? I've been calling him Snipe since his character looks like Kamen Rider Snipe's actor to me. xD I think there's definitely a connection between all the dreamers so far...Last time, I've been thinking that they've been looking for an escape for their situations, like an 'out'. Baku wants an out for what he feels is a harsh reality about to encroach on him, the detective probably wants an out for what he feels like is a career dead end, and well...It might not have been her marriage, but she definitely was looking for an 'out' of flying. Which, I mean... Obviously(since it IS a kid's show after all. xD), it's fear. Maybe it's a fear of restraining one's true self? Because I'm sure with the options Baku had for his future, he must have felt that kind of reality couldn't help him become a person he was satisfied with being. I'm sure the gumshoe detective had bigger dreams of handing out true justice, or at least uncovering the truth in things that need a light shined on them. Being in this department is actually a right place/right time thing in the story, but in reality? You know a paranormal division is pretty much a career dead end. And with the bride in this episode... Again, while it's not about marriage, I'm sure her fear of heights would've ruined a honeymoon with the man she actually loves and who loves her back. She doesn't want to disappoint him since she wants this too, but it's her fear holding her back. ...Which again... I don't know if this is Nem trying to indirectly guide them in how they should be acting, or if she's acting like that light that ANGLER FISH have to draw people in. I'm going to a total gumshoe when it comes to this plot, I'm going to figure this one out. ...Speaking of which, YES, I love the supporting cast so far. I CAN'T TRUST THE SISTER ANYMORE, because I feel like I'm 100% she's just there to keep Baku from truly 'waking up', but I love the detectives. I honestly do love it when a super hero's supporting cast are quite capable as well in their own way. It's like Blue Beetle from DC (at least Jaime Reyes at his best), where he does have a support group of friends... But other than keeping him grounded, his friends do regularly help out Blue Beetle in their own ways... and in fact, sometimes he NEEDS them. Even then one of his friends is just by all means a normal high-school beefhead, and a snarky friend who *might* have some knowledge or ways to get that knowledge... But she's not an Orcale type. They're just normal people. ...Of course in this case, it's fun to see Kamen Rider working with the police. It was fun to see the coordination they'd make with Kuuga, Drive was a fun series... But I think this would be really fun to see play out. I know we didn't get Sachika as a Kamen Rider, but... It'd be nice to see Lupa make a return.
