But these identical cousins are a little sus....what are they up to?! It seems like they're trying to worm their way into the emperor's life (and bed)! Very interesting about the fact that we have a whole underground medical facility going on here! And should we be worried about that head lady in waiting?! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

OMG what is with this frog :P That's true, legends do happen that way! Yeah, that's a good clarification of the way the rear palace works, for better or worse. That's what I was thinking, that Maomao making medicine might be a problem for them! Yeah I know about the court lady, totally called it lol!

2025-09-24 23:01:57 +0000 UTCThe current Emporer keeps Lishu as a Concubine to protect her. He knows what his father was and won't touch her, but she is 15 now. Loulan is 17 and Gyokuyou is 19, so maybe he would visit her in a couple of years, but we know that he only likes large chested women.

Maomao pointed out that legends and myths tend to become more superfluous and exaggerated the further you get from the actual event… it’s not unlike our actual legends and what the stories actually stem from. 🐸. Maomao certainly was able to put two and two together quickly, especially after Shisui showed up - she seems to like and know a lot about insects, just like Maomao knows a lot about poison. 🐸. Remembering the technical functional purpose of the rear palace, it’s all women. 🐸. The Emperor has his pick of the litter, for lack of a better term - and he can visit any woman in the rear palace he chooses. 🐸. Remember the kind of society we are functioning in here. 🐸. But there’s also a flip side to that, and that’s also why Maomao said Lishu’s situation is unfortunate… if the emperor spends a night with one of the women, her status is raised because of it. 🐸. The envoy was completely out of line, approaching the emperor the way she did - however, the move makes sense as usually an empress candidate is a high ranked concubine first. 🐸. We’re in a completely different era than modern society, so you have to play by their rules. 🐸. Speaking of that, there’s a clinic on the north side with middle aged court ladies, which seems odd, and they seem to know what they’re doing - however, they can’t officially treat major injuries because they aren’t men. 🐸. Maomao faces a lot of this herself and truth be told, she’s gotten away with a lot more than a regular woman servant would because of the results she’s getting. 🐸. But even so, there’s only so much Jinshi can do, so she needs to be discreet - and the fact that the clinic manager figured out she’s making medicine might be a problem. 🐸. As far as your question about the one court lady with no scents, well… it might be important, but we’ll save that for later. 🐸. You know by now. 🐸. That’s all for now. 🐸.
