Phew, aight. I originally wanted to do a voiceover for this, but I kinda forgot.
What you’ll need is:
- Red yarn
- Plastic beads
- Clear nail polish
- Hi-res iris (printed)
- Monster slime
- Fake blood
- Alcohol activated palette
- And lots of patience
I won’t lie, I’m a perfectionist; this took me well over two hours. Some reminders:
- Water temp MUST BE at temperature, otherwise your beads will not melt. I’d say around 72 degrees but I’d even go higher. You’re looking for the plastic beads to turn clear, then you may scoop them up and start molding.
- If you feel like your plastic during the molding stage is starting to harden, keep your ball hot under warm water, up to what you can stand.
- Less is more; pull your yarn apart slow and steady.
- Focus more on detail than gore; I used the thinner lines I could and found it much more accurate.
I also forgot to add, you’ll want to get a very thin liner brush to add in those minute details. The melon baller, I used, because I really wanted a round edge. It’s not going to be perfect, of course, but the more you take your time—the better it’ll look. To cool down your ball faster, stick it in the fridge/freezer and you’ll be set.
