I think it’s safe to assume this is probably the most anticipated film (for me) of the year. Working with Digital Thunderdome (again), is always the best goddamn experience of my life. This time, we took a four-hour ride south to Rome, Georgia. I’d never been here before—so this within itself was a mini-vacation of sorts. The set was incredible; it was nestled on a river tributary. The old mill we shot in was a converted wedding venue. The area where we did makeup was where the brides got ready. It was such a strange experience given when I opened the door—I met: Chelsea LeSage, Alexandra Lucchesi, Celeste Brandon and makeup artist Tara DiPatellio.
Chelsea and I are longtime internet friends, and she is a highly-sought after actress and model internationally. Needless to say, I felt like I was basking in the presence of a goddess.
I took some time to explore the outdoor area, which was incredibly picturesque within itself. You couldn’t ask for more beautiful weather, and the cold temp allowed for a crystal-clear day. The DT crew were shooting the film’s Civil War segments down the river while the “Bitches” and I were getting makeup done.
We shot over ten hours of stuff, and being that I had to work the next morning (lol), I was fully anticipating a long day.
We finally made it to my scene, and since my character is 80% green screen—this was a treat. I’ve never been behind a green screen before, and the process within itself was freaking fascinating. We rehearsed a few times before doing shots, and needless to say, I had some “surprises” up my sleeve to get the cast into character. It was cold as all hell, and truth be told, not being able to wear any jacket SUCKED. I had to wear all black in order for the trackers to pick me up on camera, so I was roughing it like I usually do.
Gloria DeWeese, whom starred on “The Walking Dead” for 7/8 seasons as a walker was a peach on set. She kept serving me coffee, tea, and giving me hand warmers. Admittedly, I’m always a star struck goober when I’m on set with Digital Thunderdome, because so much of the crew have worked with HUGE people. Yet, here I am, the non-union potato surrounded by all of it. I still don’t understand it, honestly. If anything, it does show you that you can do me up in the coolest situations and never expect it.
All in all, guys, I’m so excited for this movie to come out. Obviously, I can’t really show TOO much because I am under NDA, but I have to tell you, this movie is going to be fucking WILD.
