Added 2023-07-28 18:52:00 +0000 UTCThis movie was picked out by William who was the winner of the July Patron movie raffle :) Going into this my knowledge of Elvis was pretty limited. I had no idea how great this movie was going to be but wow I really empathized with this man's struggle. It was heartbreaking to watch such a talented man's life crumble to pieces. I did however really enjoy hearing his music and seeing the Elvis wiggle. Watching the fans go wild was a lot of fun. He did some groundbreaking, earth shaking stuff for not only the music industry (fusing African American rhythms with country western) but for the fabric of society at that time. He was an absolute paradigm shift. The actors knocked their performances out of the park especially the young man that played as Elvis, Austin Butler. Tom Hanks played one hell of a scumbag in this, his performance was great. Thanks William for having me check this one out.

OMG Lauren and William...Thank You. This movie was hands down Amazing! Austin Butler was incredible. And Tom Hanks did what he does every time. This was such a truly tragic story. Lauren, you were an utter and complete joy, as always. Yes Elvis was a paradigm shift to the music industry. And i do believe he pioneered the leather look. Thank you for watching this with us. I knew a good bit about Elvis' history before I watched this, so I wasn't shocked by anything that happened in the movie.. it was so well portrayed though! Each of the main cast did a fantastic job! All of them - Austin Butler was Elvis, plain and simple! No clue who he is but he was incredible! Olivia Dejonge was fantastic as Priscilla. Hanks as Colonel.. wow, fuck that guy! xD William THANK YOU for requesting this! This was my first time watching this and I had a blast. I'll be recommending this to others now. :)

Did you know that Disney's Lilo & Stitch used Elvis music for their soundtrack. Makes it a fun animation for kids and adults alike! Also, as an Army of Darkness & Evil Dead fan, you may be interested in a little film by the same director, BUBBA HOTEP, which features a certain infamous musical artist living out his retirement. 😉
