Merry Christmas!

Merry christmas and a Happy new year everyone!

I hope that you all have an awesome time and get the best gifts.
Personally I like to give gifts rather than recieving them.
I would like to talk about how busy the year has been but it's a mood killer I'm sure.
So I'll just write a little bit about the work on the game that has been done.

The update was planned to feature more of a search and progress gameplay where the story would progress regardless of the player's actions. I scrapped after making half of that content. And while I feel like the original idea was good and can certainly be done in the future I feel like it should be a sepparate game with different characters. Now why did I feel this way? Well even if there's a lot of content to find, this would introduce a lot of frustration unless also adding additional functions that wouldn't fit in the game. Such a base building. And the frustrating part would be for the player to progress day wise while aimlessly searching for events. Which in turn would make the player miss a lot of scenes.

Instead I refocused the telling in a more classic telling of loki with more fluent progression and throwing some surprises while still letting the player experience all the new scenes. Which are quite a few really. I'm also trying to reduce the feeling of a dayly grind from days passing in various ways. I hope that you'll enjoy it when I'm done, story is about 50% finished I'd say and all the scenes are done drawn, most if not all sprites are done too. I might need to do one or two more for certain scenes. All the maps with overlays are done too, there might be an occation that I need to make another map, but all the planned ones are done.

I hope that you all have an awesome time during these holidays :-)

Had a wonderful time with the family! Time sensitive progression is nice when pushing the severity of the arc, or just for the sake of replayability. Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous had a couple like that, which I though really pushed that lives were on the line. I'd be really interested in a game with that mechanic as a focus. That said, I'm glad I'm going to be able to experience all the content you release, as it's really too unique to pass up.
