So, I mentioned in the lesson that なきゃ + だめ is also used as "have to".
I forgot to mention that you can also say なきゃ + いや.
(Watch the lesson on いや / やだ. )
And the following phrases are very commonly used in romantic songs.
E.g.
君じゃなきゃだめ。
kimi ja Sakya dame
(For example, in this song "Sakurazaka".
君じゃなきゃ嫌。
きみ じゃ なきゃ いや
kimi ja nakya iya
(This one sounds a little more feminine.)
= It has to be you. /. You're the only one for me.
(lit. It's no good / I don't like it if it's not you.)
君じゃなきゃいけない。
きみ じゃ なきゃ いけない
kimi ja nakya ikenai
(A line from "Machigaisagashi")
In general, <noun>じゃなきゃ is used a lot instead of "じゃなければ" or "でなければ" to mean "if it is not...", "if you are not..." or "UNLESS".
E.g.
この建物は学生じゃなきゃ入れない。
この たてもの は がくせい じゃ なきゃ はいれない
= You can't enter this building unless you're a student.
(lit. if you are not a student.)
You can also say "そうじゃなきゃ" or just "じゃなきゃ" at the beginning of the sentence to mean "otherwise".
E.g.
週末は仕事しません。じゃなきゃ、頭がおかしくなっちゃうよ。
しゅうまつ は しごとしません。じゃなきゃ、あたま が おかしくなっちゃう よ。
= I don't work on weekends. Otherwise I'd go insane.
