We are back with Star Trek: The Next Generation! Today's episode is titled Where No One Has Gone Before. This is my FAVOURITE episode so far! We meet a "scientist" who appears to have found a way to increase the speed of Federation ships. He comes aboard with his assistant attempting to do the same with the Enterprise. Unfortunately, no only do things not go as expected, but he may not be what he seems.
Fantastic episode! I'm officially sold on this show and this crew! Can't wait for more!

This is the first TNG story that genuinely pushed the series budget and technology. It was originally written by the noted sci-fi and fantasy author Diane Duane, and her concepts are quite visionary. The finished script is actually considerably toned down from her original ideas. Can you imagine? I mean,what we ended up with is extraordinary enough! Trivia: apparently Rikers line "It wasn't him; it never was. It was his Assistant" required about 40 takes, because Jonathan Frakes simply couldn't get the words in the right order. :D
