2024-06-07 01:21:47 +0000 UTCI have CFS and Bea portrays a sufferer perfectly. It is a very moving episode. And doctors are only really able to diagnose it these days. Wasn't a common condition back then. Funnily though the creator of The Golden Girls is a CFS sufferer!

2024-05-29 17:59:49 +0000 UTC"Sick and Tired" is my favorite episode (s). The writing is done so well, and the jokes are great. Contrasting laughter with sadness is tough for a TV show or movie to get right, and they nailed it. These two episodes were inspired by the show's creator, Susan Harris. She struggled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and wanted to give the condition more visibility. She wrote these 2 episodes. Fun Fact: Harris is the mother of the popular American philosopher, neuroscientist, author, and podcast host Sam Harris. The St. Olaf story in this episode is also my favorite of them all.
