I remember Coffeeslice recently feeling similarly, they were getting blindsided by presenting polls they thought were reasonably balanced, but it turned out one girl ran away with it. Just to toss some ideas at the wall, maybe something like, you choose the character/franchise but poll for an outfit, or some other theming?
