Foxlady Concept Poll

Years after retiring from adventuring, a foxgirl (now a foxlady, really) lives quietly by the countryside.
One day, she receives a letter from an old friend, a teammate from her adventuring days. She was hired for an expedition into one of the places they had discovered while adventuring and, while she's more than glad to go, she was a small problem: her good-for-nothing offspring.
They didn't get into any arcane academy, didn't join any cleric sects, knight squadron, didn't even get a regular job at their town. So, since she can't leave them alone, they'll be spending some time at auntie fox's house. Maybe the countryside air will do some good to them.
So, you know where this is going, they're gonna bang. I just have one question: is her offspring a son or a daughter?
