Untitled Nyxian Academy Story Preview

[I have other stuff I'm working on but I feel like, if I don't get at least a small chapter about this out of my brain, I won't be able to work on anything else]

The afternoon sun filtered through the towering stained-glass windows of the Potioning & Brewing classroom, casting prismatic patterns across ancient wooden desks and bubbling cauldrons. Professor Thornhaven’s spindly fingers drummed against her lectern as her stern gaze swept across the classroom, lingering particularly long on one empty seat.

“As we approach the semester’s end, most of you have demonstrated at least a basic grasp of fundamental brewing principles” she said, her voice sharp as cut crystal. “Most of you” she added, her lips pursed.

The classroom door creaked open, and Anya sauntered in, her uniform’s skirt swaying dangerously high against her tanned thighs. Her platinum blond hair, streaked with rebellious pink, caught the magical lights from the simmering potions, her cat ears twitching with practiced innocence as she slid into her seat.

“Ah, Miss Purrview. How generous of you to grace us with your presence.” Professor Thornhaven’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “Perhaps you’d care to explain why your latest brewing assignment made the test potted plant grow fur?”

A few snickers rippled through the classroom. Aria, the class representative, adjusted her thick glasses and shot the cat zoahume a disapproving look from behind her neat stack of perfectly organized notes.

Anya crossed her legs, the movement drawing Lev’s eyes like a moth to a flame. The skirt on her academy robes, clearly altered by expert hands, rode high enough to make even the most lenient professor blush while barely remaining within uniform regulations.

The smooth expanse of her sunkissed thighs seemed to glow in the afternoon light, a tempting display that made Lev’s collar feel suddenly too tight. Each small shift of her legs, each subtle adjustment of her posture, every move revealed another tantalizing glimpse that sent his imagination spinning into dangerous territory.

He sat just behind her, his round face flushing as he tried (and failed) to focus on his own bubbling potion. The chubby young man nearly knocked over his inkwell when Anya lazily stretched, her tail curling in a way that seemed almost deliberately distracting.

“I thought it was rather creative, Professor” she purred, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. “Don’t you know fur is in nowadays?”

Professor Thornhaven’s expression could have curdled fresh milk. “Your retorts will not save you from failing this class, Miss Purrview. With your current performance, you’ll be lucky to score high enough on your final assignment to remain at the Academy at all.”

The words hung in the air like toxic fumes from a failed potion. Anya’s playful smile faltered for just a moment, but it was enough for Lev to notice. His quill paused mid-note, dark eyes lingering on her for just a tad too long.

Aria’s hand shot up, eager to redirect the class back to its proper course. “Professor, shall we continue with the properties of moonflower essence in emotional enhancement brews?”

As the lecture resumed, Anya’s tail swished thoughtfully, and another shift in her chair caught the attention of Lev again.

“Is she… Is she not wearing anything under that…?” he thought, blushing. The combination of a tail swish and a leg cross made the side of her robe go up and, by all means, there should have been something under her skirt, not just bare skin.

Her golden eyes darted back toward Lev, catching him staring. Instead of her usual teasing smirk, she offered him a different kind of smile, one that held the calculating gleam of someone who had just found out a solution to their problem.

“Oh, this is going to be so, so easy…” she thought, barely able to contain a smirk.
