Added 2023-05-27 04:59:00 +0000 UTCEmrys is not going to have access to the Waifu Catalog or any true bindings found therein. The two powerful advantages he does have will be missions, and...?
Infernal contracts - you may write up magically binding contracts. Both signatories must sign without any form of temporary magical coercion currently applied to them (permanent magical effects are allowed if they require High Magic like divine intervention or the Wish spell to reverse) and must be informed of the binding nature of the contract, though they need not believe in it. The contracts are supernaturally durable but not indestructible, and destruction of the contract voids the arrangement.
To the Victor go the Spoils - you may challenge a prospective companion to some manner of wager, which must be within their area of expertise or interest and plausible for them to win at. The target must agree to a bet on the outcome, and you may choose to make it binding or not at any point before the challenge begins. The target need not have any intention to follow through on the terms, for example they may see it as a joke, but must at least loosely agree that the terms sound acceptable and buy into the bet at least enough to earnestly compete. Win or lose, they will see following through as the only reasonable thing to do unless it is profoundly against their nature or values, in which case they will realize they have been compelled but still do it.
You never split the party- when voluntarily (no overt coercion on your or their part) cooperating on a task with someone of approximately the same power level as you or less, you may add them to your party, up to a maximum of five people. So long as someone is in your party, they will follow the rules of the RPG social contract. They will not betray you or excessively offend your sensibilities, they will voluntarily invite you to anything interesting they intend to do, they will be fairly easy to convince to assist you, and both fate and their own psychology will conspire to keep them in your company. You do not need to follow these guidelines strictly, but they will respond positively if you do and gross infractions (murdering a loved one, abandoning them to die) may cause them to leave the party if you are at fault. People in your party will grow in power to be, at minimum, your level -2. You may irreversibly eject someone from your party at any time, and neither they nor anyone else will ever realize that they were mentally influenced.
Pay to Win - missions (normally required to level up and acquire company assets) will also award credits which can be used to purchase Gacha tickets (granting random mission rewards) or copies of any mission reward you have previously earned. The number of credits will be based on the difficulty of the mission, and will be added on top of the normal rewards.
