patreon

A question

Hey everyone! How goes the waste disposal business?

Patreon has changed for the better. It's becoming a very unique platform and i'm considering making more of an effort to include patreon into my creation process more, and share more of that said progress.

It could actually end up being a really cool collaborative tool where i can get some good feedback and input.

Speaking of which, i want to ask you all a question

You may have seen me on yt and twitter asking about what bad games are and what makes them bad, but to you guys, for my essay video, i want to ask:

What makes gaming awesome for you? Can you recall how gaming has positively affected you? Maybe a bond that has formed or a certain comfort somewhere? Share your stories in the comments. I'll try to put some in the video πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Thanks, and cheers. If anyone ever wants to talk you can dm me on patreon and discord at any time.

First video game I ever played was Gran Turismo 5 thanks to my dad. After that my dad shared his PS3 with me and my mom bought me 2 more games, LittleBIGPlanet and ModNation Racers. the big thing all three of these games had in common was that they were very focused on creation. In Gran Turismo 5 it was about creating YOUR story of YOUR racing career. You could make tracks and personalize cars down to minute details, hire drivers and buy them cars, change yours and their appearances, everything to make your own career. Modnation also let you make tracks, but far, far more in-depth. You could make your own character, your own car, and race these man-made tracks online. you were given the same tools the devs used to make tracks, and could without much effort recreate dev tracks, characters, and cars 1:1. LittleBIGPlanet, I don't need to introduce cause everyone knows it. I still play all three to this day, especially Gran Turismo 5 and Modnation. Gaming to me was an outlet for me, a young autistic kid living far from any friends to release my creativity in unconventional ways. I made friends online with these games using the PS3's free online multiplayer, some of which I still speak to today. I feel very limited by newer games because this desire to put me IN a story rather than BE the story modern devs have is just not it for me.

Land Rover Gaming

Gaming was something that my dad introduced me to, but the events surrounding that first introduction was very weird. It was like something flicked on in my subconscious, I can still remember vividly standing in the living room and my dad calling me to show a website with flash games on a laptop he got for the family. I still remember the domain for that site, too bad it leads nowhere nowadays. It was like a moment where I first became aware of myself, about the world around me. Even though I don't often think about how significant gaming has been for me, that memory still instills love in me for the creations that people make and the labour that's being poured into them.
