2026-02-20 18:20:18 +0000 UTCI know that people argue a lot about the demon's, but I think an important pieces of the conversation is lost. Before we are shown the demons, we are shown examples of mimics. Demons are not a race. They don't have a culture or society. They are essentially mimics that take on the shape of humans instead of treasure chests. They're written to very explicitly not be analogous to anything. They're not "people who are inherently evil", they're a natural predator that feeds on humans, who copies their form and behavior with no understanding of it in order to lower their defenses and get close.
