Peak Re:Zero. None of this hype stuff in Season 3 would've been possible if it wasn't for the buildup from the first 2 seasons. Subaru being a badass this season and not dying as much wouldn't feel earned if it wasn't for the loong slow breakdown of his character flaws and his struggle to build himself back up over and over again as a better, mentally healthier and stronger person across both Season 1 and 2. If we had this Subaru from Day 1, I think.. it just wouldn't have been as rewarding. Same for Emilia. Emilia showing how much she has changed from a damsel in distress with self confidence issues pretending to be strong.. to what she is today wouldn't feel as climactic without her looong struggle to overcome the Trials in Season 2 (as slow as that season was).
