ahhhh we thought the emperor was messin w HER, but him messing with Jinshi is infinitely funnier. IDK if an emperor would encourage his heir/spare to take the challenge while he's alive, would he?

2025-03-03 14:54:33 +0000 UTCI think you have misinterpreted parts of episode 7, or maybe just missed a few amusing interpretations that I had made about the emperor in this episode. From his attitude, he seemed to be playfully teasing Jinshi about his crush on Maomao throughout the episode. When the teacher challenged Maomao about if she was worthy to take on the challenge despite not even being a concubine, the emperor joked about making her his concubine, then laughed after witnessing Jinshi's flustered response. Then, slyly, he says to Jinshi "Why don't YOU take her through the challenge?". This challenge, being one to choose a worthy emperor, to be undertaken with a concubine of his choice. That felt like the Emperor was nudging Jinshi to take the throne with Maomao at his side. And at the end, when the teacher suggests that Maomao would be a good choice to add to their blood, while warning him to be wary of the conflict that might give rise to, he looks at Jinshi, waiting for his response. This tells me that he approves of Maomao, and that he wants to make sure that his son, Jinshi, is aware of the issues that he might face.
