September Monthly Challenge: The Untethered

Dear Craftworldians,

Welcome to a new monthly challenge! Last month's painting challenge, "The Incredible Nature," turned out to be truly incredible. We loved seeing your creative projects and received some fantastic feedback from the community.

That can only mean one thing—it's time for a new challenge! The September Monthly Challenge is all about big noses and beards. Our Untethered bust is available as a free-for-all STL, and we’ve create
d a three-part tutorial series diving into the details of painting a dwarven face, beard, and fabrics.

GET YOUR THE UNTHETHERED STL HERE!

The challenge is to paint your Untethered bust (or any other project that fits this theme) using the Untethered series as your guide. You can also explore other busts from the Era of Providence, sculpted by Marko. For example, Trisht the Steadfast isn’t a dwarf but has a big nose, and the Trisht tutorial shares similarities with the Untethered series. So, for those who aren't fans of beards, the Trisht the Steadfast tutorial also meets this challenge’s requirements.

As mentioned, the challenge isn’t exclusive to these busts, so if you have another project in mind, be creative and apply the lessons to any model you see fit for this theme after watching the tutorials.

Challenge Rules:

1. Watch the Untethered tutorials (there are three videos; you can also watch the Trisht the Steadfast tutorial). :

2. Paint the Untethered bust or any other project that fits this tutorial's theme (if you're unsure if your model fits, feel free to ask on Discord).

3. Take quality photos of your finished piece. Check out our Photography Guide for tips on capturing great images.

4. Post the final photos of your piece, along with your IG name, in the Monthly Challenge Discord channel. By the end of September.

5. We will feature the top three entries on our Instagram, tagging your profiles.
