What’s going on with Head Game?

first of I want to thank you all for your support in the past and in the present! I would have given up long ago, if it were not for you guys!
As some of you might now I quit my current day job to get a grip on my life again and also to have more time to work on Head Game. I can’t make a living on adult game developing yet, so I’ll start a new day job in january 2023. But I hope that the time in between will be more than enough to get the game in a stable state so I can focus more on content.
So what have I been up to the last couple weeks?
Crashes / Unstable animations
- A lot of you reported that the game frequently crashes and that the characters ‚explode‘ when the framerate drops. I was able to fix most your crashes by doing debugging and some minor adjustments. The exploding characters on the other hand are a different kind of story. It seems that the way I implemented the movement of the IK effectors just doesn’t do well with low FPS. They go in a kind of feedback loop and just fly right out of the map. To fix this I rewrote the whole IK effector logic and the way throat resistance is handled. Now I can proudly say, that Head Game has become FPS independant and stable (hopefully :D).
Moving to UE5
- While rewriting the code for the IK effectors I also decided that I want to move from UE4 to UE5, since there are a lot of cool new fluid simulation options available I don’t want to miss out on.
What am I doing right now?
At the moment I am occupied moving all the logic over to my new UE5 project file. Because the logic for the IK effectors changed so much I can not simply copy/paste it over and some adjustments have to be made.
The migration should be completed in aproximately two weeks.
What’s planned after migrating?
After moving to UE5 I’ll release a new free demo version which will include character customization and the basic kneeling pose.
For patrons I will release character packs featuring characters from games and pop culture. First pack will be a Cyberpunk pack featuring: Judy, Panam, Johnny, Lizzy Wizzy, Johnny Silverhand, Evelyn Parker and female V. Those iconic characters will come with their own clothing and hairstyle options and won’t have all the customization options available that generic characters have. I do this, so the characters can have their own bodytypes and feel more original overall.
Another often requested feature are more poses. For now I’ll restrict the game to oral sex poses. I’ll open a thread on Discord, where you can make suggestions on poses you like to see ingame and start a poll here on Patreon for you to vote your favorites.
Another option I’ll be adding is custom voice packs. I am working on making Head Game compatible with original Super Deep Throat voice packs, so you guys / me can easily port over existing stuff. If funding goes well I will think about employing a voice actress to do some unique sound effects just for Head Game :).

Weekly devbuilds
From now on I’ll will share my current devbuild every Friday with you guys, so you can see what I am currently working on and test new features. The current devbuild is pretty much barebones as it just contains the new IK and physical animation system.
