Here is the progress so far for the next update of Voreocracy. I'm trying to be transparent here as I value the opinion of all of you. I've had massive delays trying to optimise what was already made by trying different image files and size to see which one had the best file size savings for the smallest loss in quality. I also got really sick just before and during the holidays at a point where I could barely get out of bed. I now dropped the optimisation idea for this update to get it out quicker. The thing I would like to know is.
1. Should I keep going for the update as planned, aiming at a late Marsh release.
2. Release what is done now, even if there isn't much vore scene in it. Do the rest as soon as possible (probably early April).

I understand most of you are dissapointed by the slow progress of the game. I'm terribly sorry for that. I think we can all agree I'm pretty bad at keeping things on schedule. For those who feared I was giving up, don't worry.

2024-03-24 23:30:58 +0000 UTCI used a script to convert the images in version 0.31 to webp at the same size (1080p with smaller sprites ) and got the total game size down to 462MB from 3.74GB. After replacing PNG with webp in script.rpy the game ran fine :)

2024-03-06 00:49:11 +0000 UTCIf you keep backups of the high quality originals, you can afford to have a much larger decrease in quality during development and then swap out the images and videos to make a high quality/HD version at the end.

Waiting a little longer for it, is totally fine, real life is super important and this game is one of the best looking ones out there. Don't beat yourself up about it, you are doing great and this is super exciting.
