I've been working on a new but brief scene with Victor that I realized, although it is non-critical to the story, there is the potential that players might miss it if they are skipping around content.
The Victor scene is fairly sweet, though, so that concern made me a bit sad, but at the same time I don't want to mark the path required because I want players to have the freedom to skip as they please (as much as possible given the semi-linear nature of Remembrance).
That sent me down a general realization that there are many scenes scattered about with LI characters outside of their own route that could be missed. I am trying to minimize (not eliminate) scenes with non-route characters, but crossovers will always exist.
Why minimize these? Some feedback I got in Obsession was that there was a LOT of Sebastian (AUTHOR'S FAVORITE~~! :D ) in every route during Obsession, so much so that some players got sick of him. I am trying to be more conscious of that (as well as making sure the CGs and screen time of all the characters are more fair, as much as reasonably possible).
Other side note: Sebastian does appear a lot in Alex's route because they are brothers! Seb is important to Alex, it only makes sense plot-wise! Also Alex's route is kinda an introduction so you get a lot of everyone to give the player a good feel of every character.
In Brandon's route (thus far), Alex & Seb only appears once while Quinn and Julian makes a couple of appearances each.
But back on topic: that concern also made me realize the reverse is also true. If you ADORE or are super-curious about a certain character (like Victor), you probably want to make sure you see all that content! Even if you hate Alex, maybe you wanna see all of Julian's scenes (for example).
I realized that curiosity would exist with the Ethereal scenes (Lux & Quispe), thus the little sun icon was added on the walkthrough. So why not have something like that for every LI character??
(I may replace the sunshine icon with an Ethereal icon later just for consistency sake later.)
So, I had a brief chat/poll on Discord and did a couple mockups, and here's the final result implemented for Alexander's route!
I'll be implementing this for all routes, of course. Brandon is still being written atm, so his walkthrough will get updated later.
(These icons won't be present in the common route walkthrough since it's fairly linear, all LIs are present, and the branches are short.)
Now you never have to worry about missing any scenes with your favorite characters!
Additional notes:
Obviously Alex's icon is absent in Alex's route because he's literally everywhere. Same will be true for other routes and their respective stars.
Icons for the LI characters only exist where the character is active in the scene. If they're mentioned in passing or popup in the background, they aren't listed.
No icons for side characters (Vanessa, Tristan, Josh, etc.) These walkthrough images are already information-overload.
No indicators for side content.
Character icons are in alphabetical order only, no significance there.

There are 3 CGs in progress, 2 for Brandon, 1 mystery one. 😁
Beta build will come out around the 18th with at least 1 ending (hopefully maybe 2?).
There's a small chance we may finish Brandon this month, but that's not a promise!
