Billing Paused & Future Development Status

I've gone ahead and paused billing for Patreon ahead of the planned October hiatus.
My goal was always to break even at the end of the day with the game development costs. I never really cared about making a profit. I enjoyed making the game as a hobby.
Generally speaking, the majority of sales for a game are within the first couple of days and definitely within the first week.
Unfortunately, Particles of Reality isn't meeting the sales expectations I'd hoped to see on day one, which were loosely based on the wishlist quantity.
I know it's too soon to be determining whether this game is a success or failure, but currently, even if I somehow doubled my current sales, I still wouldn't break even, and that's also including ALL the Patreon funds I've received since the beginning of the Patreon.
(Thank you to all the Patreon supporters again! Getting this far would have been impossible without you!)
Right now, I'm in a wait-and-see status.
I've reached out to Steam Support to see if there's a way through Steam's curator process to provide keys for review groups for an adults-only game. I'm not willing to send keys directly because the risk of proving a key to a minor is too high. I'm not taking that kind of legal risk on personally for obvious reasons. Anyone of any age can start a curator page or youtube or blog and call themselves a game reviewer. Plus, laws vary across states and countries, too. My game can't even legally be sold in some countries.
I'm still waiting for a response from Steam.
In the mean time, I feel unethical to keep the Patreon open if I'm not 100% confident that development will continue as planned. I will renew the pause late October for the hiatus as planned.
I'll reassess my plans at the end of October.
As always, I'll keep everyone updated here, on Discord, and social media.
No one will be charged membership fees from now until November.
