Quinn route updates & previews

Hi all! 

Sorry for the dead air this last week. I got quite sick and had to skip a few days of work and writing to recover. I'm getting better now! Thanks for your patience!

For our beta players, I'm sorry to report ending #4 won't be ready before release. This is because it's a very long route to reach that ending, plus a busy last week at work, plus my recent illness. 

I'm almost done writing #4, but I still need time for editing and programming. There's also a new effect I want to try to achieve for ending 4 and 5, because these specific endings are going to have a little twist to them (mostly 5, hints of it in 4). This will take a bit of experimenting with the programming. 

(Nothing mind-blowing, don't get your expectations high! It's all for prepping the next Particles chapter.)

I'll target a beta for ending 4 for the 2nd week in November at the latest.

And for everyone...

I'm hoping (depending on artist schedules) to have 2 backgrounds, Quispe and Lux sprites, and 1 Quinn CG for ending #3. Not sure these will make it into the build though, but I'll post them here if not!

Here's a handful of sneak-peaks! (Ending 4 at the bottom) SPOILERS GALORE!

Endings 1-3:

"It was a straightforward order, and I'd seen smoothies made repeatedly throughout the day. In a few minutes, I had his order ready and rang him up. He put five dollars in the tip jar, which was almost the same price as his order."

cSebastian "Thanks, Darling. Have a good day."

mce "You too! I hope to see you again!"

"He paused with a surprised look and his cheeks faintly flushed pink."

cSebastian "… Really?"

mci "Oh crap, was that a weird thing to say?"

mce "Um, yeah, it was nice meeting you."

"He smiled bashfully and nodded."

cSebastian "You as well, Love."

mce "I was surprised not to hear from you. You said you'd text me. I guess you found nothing on [cQuinn]?"

cBrandon "Actually… that's why I'm here. I did find something."

"He was gathering my dirty dishes when his phone buzzed in his pocket."

"I watched as [cQuinn] pulled it out and his eyes grew wide with fear. I sat up, concerned."

mce "What's wrong?"

cQuinn "Uh… maybe nothing. I gotta take this."

cQuinn "I've been a lot happier since you've moved in."

mce "Me? What did I do?"

cQuinn "In my eyes, you're proof that there is at least one good, kind, understanding person in this world. I've been afraid for a long time that I would never meet someone who would look past all the noise to see me for who I am."

"He reached over, took my hand, and squeezed it tightly. I squeezed back."

"He stared at me for a few moments before scoffing."

"Matthew" "I'm telling you this for your own good. Dump him. He'll do nothing but lie, hurt you, and abandon you when things get tough."

cQuinn "Where did you get it? And uh… where are you going in that…?"

mce "Oh, right! [cSebastian] asked me out on a date when we went to breakfast, and then he sent me this to wear. I have no idea where he's taking me… I thought it would be a lot more casual than this."

cQuinn "… A date? But… but you barely know him… you said that last night…"

My sincerest apologies for my attitude towards you last night. I must confess, my jealousy got the best of me, and I'm certain you noticed. I sincerely only wish for [persistent.mcFirst]'s happiness, so please accept this gift as my peace offering. I hope we can all be great friends.

cSebastian "My love, makeup would only hide your perfection. Grace me with your natural beauty tonight."

"My rage surprised him and he took a step backwards. Even after he'd hurt my friend and caused their death, I had never yelled at him with such rage."

cBrandon "Whoa, whoa, what happened?"

mce "[redacted] and you… {b}you{/b}! Of all people! {b}You{/b} hid that from me?!"

cJulian "Hey, you talked to [cQuinn] lately?"

mce "No, [redacted]."

cJulian "Oh? Huh. I didn't know that. It's just… well, there was a party yesterday and he wasn't there."

mce "Huh? Was he supposed to be?"

cJulian "He just… he never misses a party.

Ending 4 - November (unedited)

cQuinn "A mistake, huh…"

"[cQuinn] dried his eyes with his sweaty t-shirt and sighed with a shaky breath. He stared out into the night, no longer looking at me, lost in his own thoughts. He seemed hurt by my words, but I didn't know what else I could say. He asked me what I thought, and I was truthful."

cSebastian "I just moved in. It seems we're neighbors now."

cQuinn "Neighbors, huh? What's a hot guy like you doing in a hellhole like this?"

cSebastian "Uh…. well… it was just the first place I could find on short notice. But anyway, what are you two doing out so late? It's not safe out here for two lovely young beauties like yourselves."

cQuinn "I'm sure a big, handsome knight like yourself will protect us from the terrors of the night."

mce "Look, [cQuinn], my roommate… I think he likes you, and I don't really know you, and… he's had a rough time, and we sort of had a… disagreement, I guess. I don't want to get between him and you, so I--"

"[cSebastian] nearly choked on his coffee as he laughed. He cleaned himself up with a napkin, barely holding in his giggles."

cSebastian "[cQuinn]… and me? What on earth gave you the idea there was ever or would ever be a '[cQuinn] and me'?"

"I hesitated for a few moments, then frowned."

mce "I don't know… he likes you, and you called us both 'beauties'… and…"

cSebastian "Darling, my sweet, a man can acknowledge beauty in the world without desiring it for himself. I have no interest in [cQuinn], because I have already found my soulmate."

ciSebastian "Whatever his game… he will lose."

"I leaned over to [cQuinn] and put on my most charming smile."

cSebastian "So, what kind of party is it?"

cQuinn "Whatever kind you want it to be, Handsome."

cQuinn "Alex…?"

cAlexander "I am quite impressed by your stupidity. My twin and I are nothing alike personality-wise. Did you really have no clue until she spelled it out for you?"

"On the coffee table was a collection of pills, powders, and alcohol. I grabbed a handful of [cAlexander]'s mystery pills and swallowed them with a swig of vodka before falling onto the couch, praying for sleep to take me."

cAlexander "You're already past the limit, don't take anything else."

cQuinn "Why? Not like you would care."

cAlexander "Listen, piece of advice. Give it up. Standing in my brother's way will end poorly for you."

mce "Oh! I nearly forgot. Did you ever propose to the girl you like?"

"He chuckled softly, then suddenly got down on one knee and pulled out a small ring box."

mce "Wha…"

cSebastian "That girl is you, [persistent.mcFirst]. It has been you since the moment my eyes were blinded by your brilliance."
