Beta Plans / Status Update

I am planning for a beta next weekend (~15th).

The rough draft for Quinn's 1st ending is written. I'm going to work on the 2nd ending over the next few days in the hopes of having 2 endings ready for the next beta.

Monika's sprite is now in the game! Her expressions still need to be refined, and this will be a long process. Some expressions may look inappropriate to the scenes, and there may be some situations where Monika is speaking internally instead of externally (or visa versa) due to my quick updates. Bear with me as I work through all of this, it will take time.

I've discussed Quinn's first CG with one of the artists, and two new backgrounds for a new location in Quinn's route with the BG artist. Also prepped new silhouettes for the game, Quinn's route in particular needed a few of them.

cQuinn "Um… ahem?"

"Before I could argue with him again, a voice echoed out behind us. I jumped at the sound and [cBrandon] reluctantly released me, turning to face the intruder. [cBrandon] scowled."

cBrandon "You didn't knock."

cQuinn "Uh… sorry? Do you knock when you come home?"

mce "You must be [cQuinn]! Hi! I'm [persistent.mcFirst]! Sorry about… this…"

"[cQuinn] laughed and shook my hand"

cQuinn "No worries, I don't mind if your boyfriend visits. Nice to finally meet 'cha, Hun."

"I heard [cBrandon] chuckle behind me. He stepped forward and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, then leaned and whispered in my ear."

cBrandon "Boyfriend, hm? I like the sound of that."

cBrandon "I'm running her… his background."

mce "Unless it turns out that he's a serial killer, I don't care. Get. Out."

cQuispe "Please, not another one…"

It was a straightforward order, and I'd seen smoothies made repeatedly throughout the day. In a few minutes I had his order ready and rang him up."

cSebastian "Thanks, Darling. Have a good day."

mce "You too! I hope to see you again!"

"He paused with a surprised look and his cheeks flushed slightly pink."

cSebastian "… Really?"

mci "Oh crap, was that a weird thing to say?"

mce "Um, yeah, it was nice meeting you."

"He smiled bashfully and nodded."

cSebastian "You as well, Love."

ciJulian "Hm… comes here a lot? I've never seen him before…"

mce "I was surprised not to hear from you. I guess you found nothing on [cQuinn]?"

cBrandon "Actually… I did find something. He had some sealed police and court records from when he was a teenager. Took a lot of effort to get access to that."

cQuinn "Okay, that's good. But… I wouldn't mind you playing my girlfriend either…. or being my girlfriend."

"He grinned mischievously, and I relaxed, grateful to see the old [cQuinn] returning. I chuckled softly."

mce "I guess if you want, I'll pretend to be your girlfriend. But it's just pretend! We're roommates, and I don't want to complicate things between us."
