So Patreon Effed Up. Badly.
Added 2023-08-04 03:23:28 +0000 UTCPatreon recently had a problem with processing payments this month, preventing several pledges from going through. The issue happened on a large scale and caused banks to either decline charges or mark them as fraud, impacting a good chunk of creator's pledges 🙃
This is the email we've received:
Unfortunately myself and a mass amount of other creators were affected as thousands of transactions across the site were wrongly flagged as fraudulent. Irritated is an understatement in how I'm feeling right now, but hopefully the issues can resolve ASAP.

Exactly, for many creators their livelihoods depend on this platform. Also reading about how some people cannot repledge, facing error pages, etc. is extremely concerning. Patreon at its current size cannot be this irresponsible when it comes to people's money.

2023-08-04 12:00:53 +0000 UTCI really hope they fix this issue. It's not as simple as "uh oh, Patreon money isn't in my account, what a big whoopsie". This is rent for some people. Funds that folks could really benefit from. And the site should hopefully handle it with a bit more urgency.
