Shelin, an elven city [Day/Night]

Here we go with a map commission by our Patron Tukurai!

Here's how he described it to me:

Shelin is a city built around the mouth of a river that runs through a complex of limestone cliffs into the sea. The river and the surrounding cliffs are thick with a tangle of giant trees that are incorporated into the architecture. Tall white spires break the canopy built on and around the trees with housing being built both on and inside the trees as well as on the cliffs.

The crown jewel of Shelin is the Mages college, built onto the tallest tree at the top of the cliffs, a complex of alabaster spires that can be seen for miles, around it are most of the cities administrative buildings. 

Lower on the cliff tiers also built onto the canopy of a tree is the Griffin Rookery, a big open dome with large balconies overseeing every direction where griffins are bred and raised and griffin riders trained.

The escarpment to the east overlooking the sea is dominated by bigger mansion houses built into the side of the cliff, demonstrations of means from the more well off that can afford to build in the most inaccessible spots these usually have as much subterranean structure as they show peeking out from the cliffside.

On the mouth of the river and along the bottom of the cliffs to the east there’s a sprawling dock site, one of the main ports that accommodates the sailing routes around Kamia. A few markets and related workers housing are built cramped around them, almost like a secondary city to the main canopy spires of Shelin .

Landscape - Parallel cliffs going from southwest-ish to northeast, meandering river boxed in by the surrounding cliffs opening out into a bay.

Architecture - Largely limestone buildings with green roofing, a lot of spires, built around the existing environment and on the trees, some market spaces being built into the trunks of the trees.

Main Structures - Mages College high on the cliff, Griffin Rookery on top of a tree, the dockside at the mouth of the river and the manor houses built on the northeast cliffs

Population - Largely high elves and wood elves, a lot of sea elves on the seaside but a few specks of other races around the mages college, a sort of student town around that higher tier
