Echo Blue Colony (50x60) [HD/Roll20] [Level 1 of Yiarman's Folly Megadungeon]

This map is the first part of a mega-dungeon I'm working on.

The mega-dungeon will be composed of 10 levels, one published each month, it is called "Yiarman's Folly".

It is located under the city of Trescanta, after the catastrophic impact of the comet and the following landslides have opened gaps in the depths of the sea.

A few years after the partial reconquest and reconstruction of the city, the inhabitants began to explore and sift the new lands that emerged after the impact and also the abyssal depths.

And this is where Yiarman Roichebas comes in.

Yiarman was one of the many great-grandchildren of displaced people who decided to lend a hand in the reconstruction and reconquest of the city.

As soon as he arrived in the city he was immediately included in the exploration corps, charged with exploring and reporting threats present in the lower area of ​​the city.

One day he and his group set up camp near the ruins of the old cathedral, extremely close to the main crater.

That night he was overwhelmed by nightmares and visions of an immense creature, difficult to describe, but what struck him most was the number of riches and strange artefacts that lay at the foot of it.

The next day, upon his awakening, Yiarman was determined to explore the depths, more following his instinct than logic to find the place to access those strange antediluvian ruins.

He left the exploration corps and, with his meagre resources, he decided to set out on an expedition in search of the place that now permeated all his dreams.

He dreamed of returning to the surface rich, at least the richest on the continent.

He assembled a crew of 15, scum of the worst kind, many fugitives from the nearby penal colony of Scarran.

There was no news from him for months.

One day a man, Devin Courbog, was found on the beach in the lower part of the city, feverish and delirious.

He was one of the men who took part in Yiarman's expedition.

The man was locked up in the Asylum of Trescanta, where he stayed until the end of his days, but the delusional stories he told of immense caves under the city, strange ships that were never seen before, artefacts that pulsate with their own light, creatures that they thought were extinct and others whose existence was completely unknown ignited the fervid imagination of the writer Varna Ler who published, and perhaps novel, the stories of Devin in the book "Tales from the Abyss".

Within a few years the book started a gold rush and the mysterious underwater cave complex found.

The council of Trescanta also showed interest in the caves, now colloquially called "Yiarman's Folly".

A few years later, and after several casualties, the first level became what is now called "Echo Blue Colony", an outpost in the depths for all explorers and adventurers who come down to explore Yiarman's Folly.

Many die during the exploration, but the artifacts found in the darkest corners allow an individual to live comfortably for a long time.

Unfortunately, those who spend too much time in the caves have shown signs of mental imbalance, hallucinations and other psychological disorders.

But that doesn't stop fortune seekers in their pursuit of wealth.

So far the explorers have reached what is called the fourth level of the depths, they have confirmed Davin's delusional tales but no one has found any trace of his expedition and what became of Yiarman or what is hiding at the bottom of the abyss.
